-   I went to use my GE DRSR483GD2WW dryer today and it will buzz and sound like a bad starter. It buzzes but does not ignite and tumble. Does anyone have any clues? My wife and I both swear we didn't use it last but I did go down this morning and it sounded like an electrical humming coming from the dryer and I thought it was the buzzer and it was running. I turned the buzzer off and went back upstairs. Then tonight went to use it and got this problem. -   Dan18063

I dont know what brand it is, so will generalize this if I can.  If you have no start condition, it could be a number of things.  First, be sure door is closed, and door switch is good.  Check wires going to switch as well to be sure they havent fallen off.  There are a number of fuses depending on the type and make of the unit.  Whirlpool (Kenmore, Roper, Inglis, etc) use 2 fuses, one on the element and one in the blower housing.  GE uses usually 1 thermofuse, top right corner (again, depending on make and model), and Maytags use one usually mounted around the element area.  If you can get me some more information, I can narrow it down a little.   Jim

I have a similar problem. I have a Whirlpool Ultimate Care ii electric dryer. The light is on inside, but when we press start. Nothing happens. Any suggestions? Do you think it is one of the fuses? I have tried checking it with a mutlimeter, but I am not sure I know how to check it.
