Philips DVP 5992 DVD player disk tray opens without a disk
I played a disk on Philips DVP 5992 DVD player.
When I stopped it and put an "eject" button to remove the disk, the disk tray came out empty, i.e. the disk remained somewhere inside the player. After I closed the tray the player still could play the disk. After several open/close attempts (including putting the player upside down) the player now displays "No disk" though it is still inside.
Thank you in advance for your help.

You can call Phillips customer support at this telephone number 1-888-744-5477. Tell them while using the disc player the unit failed to eject the disc and ask the for a way to solve the problem. It is best to talk to them in this case as the solution will involve a opening of the unit to figure out what has malfunctioned to cause this problem. If the Sony DVP-NS77H DVD player displays "TRAY LOCKED" and you can't
eject a disc or open the tray, try the following - First turn the unit
off. Then, while holding down the eject, play and stop buttons
simultaneously (on the front of the DVD player), turn the unit on with
the '/O button (also on the front of the player). This released the
locked tray for me.
Hi, when a disk tray automatically opens and closed several time, might be from the disk tray itself is jambed that's why it opening and closes by itself. You can open up the player and check if any thing in hooking it.
Also it might need to be replaced, the wheels inside the DVD player might be too weak to move in and out without moving automatically.
The way i see it, you might end up replacing the disk tray with a new one..
Very sorry for your loss. As always the first step is to make sure the player is connected to the wall outlet and turned on.
To put a disk in the DVD you should push the "Eject" button to open and close the tray it looks like a home(a triangle over a dash) on the front side of the box down left corner of the tray. You have the same button on the remote marked "Eject". Push either once, put the disk with the shiny side down on the tray and push the Eject button again to feed the tray back into the player. Usually the disk starts automatically and you will see a menu on the TV with alternatives like "Play the movie", "Setup", "Scenes",... you may highlight the "Play the movie" alternative, using "Up", "Down", "Left" and "Right" and then press the "OK" button. Or just push the "Play" button either on the box or the remote control. If you click "Here "you can download the manual in PDF form. To open it in your pc you'll need "Adobe Acrobat Reader" (or any other PDF reader) installed.

THIS WILL UNLOCK THE DISC LOCK FEATURE. MAKE SURE YOU GO YO SETUP AND CHOOSE UNLOCK DISC LOCK PERMANENTLY OR IT WILL KEEP DOING IT EVERYTIME YOU PLAY THE SAME DISC. HOPE THIS MIGHT OF SOLVED YOUR PROBLEM.
