Question about 2wire (1000-400108-001) Router

2 Answers

Router cords I unplugged all my cords to detangle them and now I am not sure which color cord goes where, the blue cord on DSL box is called "ethernet" and when this cord goes to the router I am not sure if it goes in one of the 4 ports that are alike or in the port called "internet". I think maybe I switched it with the yellow cord?

Re: Router cords

The color doesn't matter-all the cords are the same.
One cord goes from the modem to the Internet port on the router. The other goes from one of the numbered ports to the computer ethernet port.

My wifi doesnt work

First unplug the power then plug back in it will restart. you should see the front lights flash as it resets if that fails read on... The blue to light will rotated blue led if wifi is working. double check your lan cord coming from your dsl, cable or sat box.
on the back there is a small hole use a pin to hard reset it. you have to hold the pin in for around 10 seconds. This will reset it factory default. You may have to log into it to enable wifi. usually after the reset. type or or into your browser
a login screen should appear.
Username: admin
password: password or 1234
these are the normal default but may have been changed by someone setting up your router.
Router do fail often they just die out of the blue. this is an older wifi router failure may have occurred. if no lights flash or regain a solid status then it may have died.. good luck

I followed the instruction but can't seem to connect to the internet, do i need a separate modem or is the one in my regular computer enough. i have belkin G wireless router. i have tried everything....

If you are trying to connect wireless you will need a wireless card. Routers are very peticular about the way they are set up. Unhook everything turn everything off and reboot computer, and run the software disc that came with the router. Plug the dsl into the the Blue colored port or Wlan then reboot computer and then plug cable into computer. This should work.

Can I use a router with a modem connection and how do I connect it without knocking the phone out? Product is AirLink101 Wireless N Router Model # AR670W wireless 4 port

erm dude your modem connection doesn't go in the router. It will either not fit or fry the router.

Anyways, You should have a cord with it that can go in the computer or (Maybe dsl box if you got one, then put the other cord into the computer)
If you got a cord that goes in the computer put it to share the internet connect (right click it on the modem connection and click properties then advanced then Share my connection (XP, VISTA, WINDOWS 7 ONLY))

I need to connect my router to a Motorola AT&

The connection should be, from the modem connect the ethernet cord to the INTERNET/WAN port of the router. And your PC to port 1 of the router as well. You can then run the setup CD That came with your router.

I would like to know who is your internet service provider and would like to check if the router is configured with your ISP modem.
To configure for different ISPs here is the link
The links are there for setting up with DSL as well as cable modem. Do let me know if its working or not.

Blue cable.

The blue cable is a regular ethernet cable. There is nothing special about it other than the color. Cat5 is what your looking for.
