The machine keeps tripping the electricty

Was this a recent thing? Have you had the dishwasher in that same spot before with no problems? It sounds to me like you have to many amps coming from that room, or your breaker is getting weak and needs to be changed out. Most likely a 20Watt Ge breaker or Square D breaker or Siemens.

Why was my dishwasher tripping the breaker when the ground wire touched the metal inside of the dishwasher?

The wiring may be reversed, colorwise, somewhere between the breaker panel and the dishwasher. Check for the correct polarity with a voltmeter.

Dishwasher LD-1420T1 tripping power in the house?

Okay, this could be tricky because depending on who installed it, they might have wired into it. Check your garbage disposal and if you have anything else plugged in nearby, check that wiring too. Some installers have a nasty issue when it comes to hard wiring. They don't like doing it. So instead of hard-wiring your garbage disposal, they'll cut it in to your dishwasher. If your garbage disposal or anything else is wired to your dishwasher the load on the washer and the current the washer is using is too high. That's going to trip your breakers. You should probably contact an electrician and have them check the breaker box to make sure it's wired correctly. You may need to upgrade the breaker or have the dishwasher circuit upgraded. If it's an old house, it could be anything but first, check to see that nothing is wired into your dishwasher. You can tell if you have a few switches in the same outlet and turn them off. If your garbage disposal won't work and the DW won't either, then you have a wiring issue. That's the easiest way to start.

Dead after power outage

The breaker may have failed electrically while continuing to function mechanically. It may be necessary to replace the breaker, something GE should have been able to tell you without referring vaguely to "an act of nature" which it wasn't.

I have a GE Dishwasher Model: PDW7800G00BB and when I close the door it trips the breaker on the Breaker Panel. What would cause this?

Check the breaker carefully, it may have a GFI (Ground Fault Interrupter) built in. If it doesn't say anything about this on the breaker, look for a small 'test' button which is used to test the breaker's reaction to a fault condition. If it is GFI equipped, water has gotten into areas where it did not belong and is causing ground currents to flow activating the GFI.
If it is not so equipped, then the motor has probably failed drawing excessive current causing the breaker to trip.

The garbage disposal & overhead sink fixture run to the same Square D Qob120 1pole 15amp 120v Circuit Breaker . After a week of consistentlu tripping, the breaker won't allow itself to reset. ...

I would start by replacing the breaker. If a new one trips then check ground and wiring. If it still trips then there must be a problem with the garbage disposal. let us know

My dishwasher won't start. I pushed the start botton. It does not light up. Nothing has happened.

Assuming the mains power circuit breaker has not tripped, it is likely an internal thermal fuse has tripped.

Can you please provide the full model no. of you dishwasher

My disposal only works when the dishwasher is

You say that the disposal only rotates when the dishwasher is running? Are you saying if you turn the disposal on it will not work unless the dishwasher is also on and then it rotates? If you have an on/off switch for the disposal it should at least try to turn when you turn it on. On the bottom of the disposal is a red reset button. If the disposal will not come on push that reset button to reset the breaker. This may solve your problem once you get the disposal running and clean it out. If it trips again something is lodged in the unit and you must clear it out. Turn the power off at the service panel before attempting this. It may also be getting power from a GFCI receptacle. Check the ones in the kitchen to see if they have tripped. Reset them by pushing the red button, and see if that fixes the problem. The drain line from the disposal may also be clogged. Get a bucket and remove the drain line from the disposal and check for a clog in the line and inside the disposal. If you find none then move to the trap under the sink. You may find one of these clogged. Use ice to sharpen the disposal blades and keep the unit fresh at least once every 3 months. Just put ice cubes in the unit and turn it on for about 15 seconds.
