Question about J Mason Baby Gear

Need to assemble a J Mason surround play yard properly

I purchased a used J Mason surround play yard. We quickly watched the guy assemble it. We would like an instruction manuel or sheet so we can be sure our infant grandson is safe in a well put together play yard.

Thank you,
Susan

Hi there. I assume it's the same one I have, and I have to say, it's the best! Totally safe...can't see any reason it could be unsafe.

First, underneath the nylon part, you'll find 4 legs in "pockets". Take them out, and (obviously) one goes in each corner. Insert one at a time (I typically do diagonals to keep it upright, but it doesn't matter), making sure to put them through the mesh corners. Simply screw each into the top of the playyard.
I believe there are also some nylon "flaps" that you can re-velcro underneath the playyard (writing this from memory).
Most important is to make sure that the legs are securely screwed in and that they are through the mesh.
Hope that helps.....

Rca model rtd3266 won't produce aux audio through the tv even though we have hooked up the red and white cables. It only playes the surround sound when you watch the dvd.

I believe you have misunderstood something. The audio output from your TV is stereo. Your RCA system produces surround output from your TVs stereo input.

AV cables don't pass surround sound through, they are pretty much just left and right stereo. You need to turn pro logic on on the reciever to "pretend" to play surround. The better option of course would be to use a digital signal like another HDMI cable or digital optical audio from the cable box, if thats what your using.

My home theater system plays cds but will not play dvds, what can I do to fix it, makes a scratching noise when i put dvds in it, but plays fine with a cd.

There is something wrong with the DVD drive assembly inside. If you're brave, take it apart and check on what is making the noise. Also, try using a q-tip to clean the laser head if it's accessible.

If that doesn't help, it's time for a new DVD player.

This is why I always recommend people buy a home theater system without a DVD player built in. The DVD player is the weakest link, and stand alone DVD players can be purchased for as little as $25 depending on if you want upconversion or not.

If you cannot get the DVD player working in your surround system, just replace it with a stand alone DVD player, if you can, check to make sure there are audio inputs on the back of the receiver. If there are no audio inputs on the receiver, you will have to get the entire surround system replaced. If so, purchase a separate DVD player and surround system.

Cable Required to conect to TV

Your graphic card has two digital TV outputs, so all you need to do is to purchase a DVI cable and connect your PC to your TV (unless your PC is close enough to 'borrow' the cable from your PC, and you're only doing this on a one-time basis. If your TV doesn't have DVI input, you can purchase a DVI > VGA adapter; but most TV's today have DVI input. The next step is to output your sound to your surround sound system, or your TV will be silent. If you don't have any sound output slots left to plug into, you can purchase a 'Y' - adapter for your speaker port, or else if your PC has a second speaker jack on the front, you could just use that since you're only going to watch temporarily anyway.

I've run a cable from my PC to my TV, and used a 'Y' - adapter on my speaker output, leading to my surround sound amplifier, but since it draws my available wattage to my computer speakers on my computer down quite a bit, I simply unplug the cable leading to the surround sound amplifier when I'm not using it.

Hope this will FixYa.

When watching tv

Is the sound different when you play movies or is it the same regardless? It may be a problem with your audio cables from your system to your TV. If you are not using HDMI, Optic, or Coax cables you will not be able to get the surround sound to function properly. It also may be a settings issue or poor connections on the wiring. Need more info.
