Bought a vivitar 60700 and can not see anything

Can not see anything when I look through the eye piece

Eypieces in telescopes usually come in two sizes .9" and 1.25" diameter. There are hundreds of scientific companies or telescope companies that can supply you with an inexpensive replacement. The eyepiece focal lengths, usually in millimeters, determines the magnification of the telescope. The focal length of the main lens divided by the focal length of the eyepiece is the magnification of the telescope. Usually two eyepieces are enough for your scope. Good luck

Just put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the focuser. Take the scope outside during the day time and practice focusing on a distant object.

I am missing the piece that screws on to the focus tube. My 60700 was given to me. where can I get this item.


You mean the diagonal? or the entire focuser?

Purchasing either one will be expensive- here are examples of both items:

You could buy a pair of 10x50mm binoculars which would be almost as large an aperture as your 60mm telescope.

Have 7 x 50 vivitar binocs cant get it lined up for both eyes


One of the two eye pieces should be adjustable. Try turning the one until you see clearly through both.
