THERE IS A ELECTRIC AND A SEPARATE GAS THERMOSTAT....... THEY ARE NOT THE SAME!! IF YOU HAD A GAS PROBLEM THEN IT WOULD NOT WORK ON ELECTRIC.....REPLACE THE GAS THERMOSTAT.... IT WILL WORK FINE....AFTER YOU CHECK THE REST OF THE GAS SYSTEM OF COURSE... LIKE GAS PRESSURE ANY GAS FILTER ETC......

THERE ARE DIFFERENT THERMOSTATS FOR ELECTRIC AND GAS......CHECK GAS PRESSURE .... YOU MAY NEED A GAS THERMOSTAT.. IF YOU GAS STOVE INSIDE BURNS WITH APPROPRIATE FLAME HEIGHT.. THE GAS PRESSURE IS USUALLY CLOSE ENOUGH FOR THE FRIDGE.......IF YOU PLUG THE FRIDGE IN FOR A DAY AND GET IT COLD THEN SHUT THE ELECTRIC DOWN LIGHT THE GAS TURN THE GAS ALL THE WAY DOWN...(THE THERMOSTAT) CHECK THE SIZE OF THE FLAME THEN TURN IT ALL THE WAY UP AND THE FLAME SHOULD RISE HIGHER..... NOT LIKE A TORCH OR ANYTHING BUT SHOULD BE HIGHER.... IF YOU CANT GET THE FLAME TO CHANGE HEIGHT THEN THE T STAT IS PROB NOT WORKING....I HAVE REPLACED MANY.....THE REASON FOR GETTING THE FRIDGE COLD IS SO THAT THROUGH THE SWING OF THE T STAT YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO TURN THE FLAME DOWN AND UP BECAUSE THE FRIDGE IS MODERATELY COLD......GOOD LUCK

Does the flame ever got out if not ,the tsat is not the problem. It could be that the flame is not hot enough or the flue has a restriction

My 1987 dometic rm2600 works on electricity but not on gas. No light shows.

It is more then likely just a dirty orifice. The orifice is located just before the burner. It is a brass fitting that screws into the burner. It can be cleaned by removing it and soaking it in rubbing alcohol for a half hour then blowing it out. Do not poke anything through it! One cleaned try the fridge again, if this does not cure the problem then it is more then likely your thermostat that has failed. These thermostats are still available. They are a dometic dual stat and can more then likely be found on Ebay for around $100. Hi...recently purchased a 2005 Roadtrek RV with a Dometic RM 2354 fridge in it...was getting things ready for camping and had the RV hooked up to 110 power...pushed on button for fridge and went through...

You said there was NO lights on the unit. The Dometic service manual says:

1. No operation - no panel lights: DC Volts

Fuse

Wiring

Upper Circuit Board

Lower Circuit Board

I would start with the DC volatage and track it back until you lose it. Most of the time it does end up being the lower circuit board though.

3 way dometic RV fridge RM2612 won't work on propane or 12 V

Check any fuses/circuit breakers in harness from battery. That battery should supply 12 volts dc to fridge lugs/terminals at bottom of fridge on outside behind vent.
If battery is good and hooked up properly but no 12 volts to fridge, then you will have to trace back to battery for broken /bad wire. If you want to test quickly, just run 2 jumper wires from battery to those 2 lugs marked + and - Battery + to + (pos)at fridge, and - battery to -Neg at fridge. That should allow you to run it on propane or 12 volt. Remember, running it on 12 volts will kill that battery pretty quick, unless it's being charged. When you are plugged in, the converter supplies the 12 volts to your fridge, as well as should be charging your battery.

I have a mid 70's Dometic RM 211 refrigerator in my camper. The screen on the propane burner has been damaged and needs to be replaced. Parts no longer exist from Dometic. What size wire mesh do you...

Hi Brian,

You don't want to use a screen that is made to fit. The original part was designed for a specific flame. That being said, colaws rv salvage may have a replacement burner in stock, and you can also try calling up a company that rebuilds cooling units for rv fridges.

Camper fridge dont cool

I also had the same Model Make. I removed my fridge and placed it upside down, occasionally shaking fridge within a 24 hr period. This seemed to re-mix the ammonia solution and the fridge is working.
This may work for you but look for yellow stains if you see any your fridge is leaking and would require repair.
