drivers side
well it can be ignored
start with anything driven by the serp belt

a tensioner bearing or idler bearing is a probable cause of the noise

how do you see anything in that engine bay

Hi, Eric I would love to help you with your engine or chassis noise but I just loaned my brand new pair of listening ears to your local dealer's chief technician so he could take your bike for a test ride and give you his professional opinion and estimate about your noise and repair cost. If you are a little short on "DRACHMA" and a Dealership is not on your list of fun places to visit then perhaps the list below will help soothe your worried mind so you can make an informed decision.

Air conditioner has loud hollow sound

After mine set up, I turned it on and it made a steady clanking sound, turns out there is black foam that is supposed to be glued behind the cooling fan and it had come undone and was hitting the fan. Slide the unit out of its shell and reach your hand in there and see if anything has come loose. (the fan towards the rear of the unit) good luck.

The slow-lowering lid has reverted to slamming - can i just tighten the bolts to fix it?

If you want to be able to just tip the seat and let if fall without that loud slamming clank, look into getting some Drop-a-Seat cushions, a brand new product that is only $4.99 and absorbs the fall of the toilet seat and eliminates loud clanks. They're non-absorbent, have an easy stick-on installation, and are permanent but removable. www.drop-a-seat.com

When I start my 96 Camaro Z28 there is a loud clank sound that happens only once. Still Starts. It only happens on start-up and is pretty loud.

the starter may need to be shimmed. could be the drive gear is getting hung up on the flywheel and when engine speeds up it slams it back

I have had a problem with my timing chain, I have replaced it twice and I am still having the same problem, what is going on?

I dont think a timing chain can make that sound "like a jet'.. When a timing chain goes bad - it will either fall of the gears or make a clanking sound..

The sound you describe seems as though it might be vacuum related or exaust or intake - somthing of that nature.
