SOURCE: heat strip installation
It was quite simple, just installing the heat strip and my model only required removing the grill cover and mounting the element. The other optional installations didn't apply to my model.

The rule of thumb is 20F difference (lower) than ambient temperature. Most manufacturers will tell you 20 F degress is about normal. In your case it does sound a little warm, but I need to ask, sorry. Was it working o.k. before in same basic temperatures? Have you cleaned coils & fins good on Evaporator & condenser recently? Have you removed filter inside & cleaned it as well, and looked to see if coils are frosting up by chance? Is this a ducted or non ducted system? I'm guessing on a 5th wheel, it is ducted, so make sure you have good discharge on all of those as well. Any blockage or restriction on the discharge side will also cause the problem. Keep me posted on what you find.

Don't forget to drop ceiling assy enough to be sure that their are no restrictions or blockages on the forced side going into duct work etc, as well. Feel for cool air leaking across in to return air box as well.

SOURCE: I had a new dometic
First thing would be to check the drop cord you are using to run the trailer. Are you using a three wire drop cord? If you are running a normal 25 foot small diameter cord it can not carry the amps needed to run the A/C. Next You need a heavy duty cord like one would use for an air compressor. what all is turned on inside the trailer with the A/C?. I think that is why the installer suggested to use a 30 amp box closer to the trailer. If you want to run an amp check, if you have an clap on meter. Get an old drop cord and cut the Insu. so you can access the wire individuality and clamp around the wires. If no clamp on meter, do the math with your Ohm meter run a voltage check then read the ohms of the unit in the on position. If you have a good sized drop cord, and it is sized to carry the amps, we have to check the A/C compressor and fans amps usage, in which case you can access these components for amp use inside the A/C unit. . Hope this helps Fix Ya up.
