SOURCE: divx greek subtitles
look in the menu and try to change the encoding, There should be 3 options, Unicode, Cyrilic & Greek. Select greek if the .sub or .srt file is in ANSI encoding, or select Unicode if the file is in UTF-8 or Unicode encoding.
To find out the encoding of an .srt file the simpliest thing to do is open them with notepad and got to "File" -> "Save as", The encoding should appear in the bottom of the dialog.

Ughhhh.....I'm in the same boat! I'm so bummed......we called our
cable company on the off chance that it was a cable thing. They
were very helpful and tried to give some tips but nothing has
worked. I'd appreciate any help!
