SOURCE: water spray not working
I got a thin needle and gently made a hole through the centre of the nozzle - where the water would usually come out. That cleaned the scum build up out of it and it's working fine again. My nozzle does seem to look like its going into the iron but perhaps it's to get the correct angle of spray onto the clothes.

Almost all iron instructions suggest using a DE-SCALE once in a while.
Depending on your water type (hard/soft) would give you a guide as to how frequent.
Most supermarkets carry some form of descale liquid
in canada CLR is a good choice
many big box stores also carry it in the appliance areas.
you dont need much and as little as 250Ml will see you for a long time.
I prefer to descale items with a full load of water at the hottest setting
Allow for addition of at least 10% descale
let it sit for about 20 minutes then pour the water out and rinse out well to remove any debris
I often do that twice in case of stubborn deposits.
If yopu ever descal a kettle or tea maker, coffe maker then rense out extra well with cold water to make sure you remove all trace of the descale.
