Question about MSI Computers & Internet
G'day all, A mate of mine picked up an MSI Portable Data Terminal Model 1150 from a garage sale and we've been too afraid to turn it on. Apart from the name, model number and the fact it runs on AA Batteries, the only other info I have on it is that it can cause reception interference in built up areas and that the EEPROM was last updated in October 1997. Plus it has what looks to be an infra-red 'pen' which plugs into the terminal via an RJ45 socket, the same socket as a typical 10/100 network card. I've been googling like mad but the closest I can get are some rather ambiguos patents for multiple PDT's. If anyone would like scale photo's of the device I'd be more then glad to arrange them. Any help or knowledge would be most appreciated. Cheers, Bassker.
The MSI Portable Data Terminal hand held scan device was used in the early eighties lol, it was one of the first infrared things used in stores and shops and they used the pen to scan the bar code.
The RJ-45 socket was used to download the data to a computer, if you got the software then it could be worth a few quid/bucks as it probably will still read lol.
Sorry for laughing i have not seen one of them for ages!!.
Thanks for using FixYa!!
