How do i hook this router up wpn824v2

Your router is connected between your modem (Cable or DSL) and your computer. Connect the modem output to the WAN or Internet connector on your router. Connect any of the output connectors to your computer's Network Input. Log in to the router by (with your Browser) going to ... after logging to router (login parameters in manual) set your Network Name (SSID) and set up Wireless security. I prefer using WPS-PSK[TKIP] for its ease of setup.

Router installation directions

You do not "install" a router. The router goes between the cable or DSL modem and your computer.
Using your computer's Browser, go to and it should bring up the login screen. Whatever manual you got with the Netgear will have the login info. Once logged in, you can set your network's name (SSID) and set up your wireless security, if so equipped.

Recently I subscribed ATT DSL Service conflict IP Address

the motorola modem that att is using uses 192.168.1.x subnet. log onto your router and change it to 192.168.b.x where b is any number between 2 and 254 (just not 1). You should also log onto the modem and change the setting that allows it to share the external ip address with the router. You will need to do this if you plan on accessing your network from the internet.

DSL connection not being shared by Linksys RV042 Dual Wan router

Looks like your "modem" is actually a gateway, as is common with DSL devices. It's acting like a modem and a router. So you're actually connecting a router to your RV42. You could get this to work a couple ways.
1. Leave the modem acting like a router and configure the WAN connection on the RV42 as a static IP, and use the IP of the modem. You may also be able to use "obtain IP automatically" in the WAN connection. This way, the modem stores your PPOE information and just forwards the traffic to the RV42. Any devices behind the RV42 won't know the difference.
2. Configure the modem as just a modem (no routing). Your ISP should be able to talk you through this, but in the modem configuration you can look for what's usually called "bridged mode." Then you would enter the PPOE information in the RV42. This is my preferred method.

Cant connect to internet using linksys with att dsl modem

Your router was configured for Cable Modem which is usually DHCP
Now you need to change it for DSL modem. This means you have to change WAN setting from DHCP to PPPoE and enter your Username and Password for DSL service (should have been provided by your ISP)
Some DSL modems that are also routers need to be accessed directly first and have their configuration changed to "passthrough". This means that DSL modem should not be handeling PPPoE login but rather should let your router do the login.

Netgear wireless wpn824

Sounds link you need to setup PPPoE on your router. Not knowing who your ISP is, Netgear has this website that lists a lot of ISPs support on setting PPPoE up. that is located here: Netgear

If you can't find the info there, basically what you need to do is on your router, typically the main page, you might see an area that lists: DHCP, Static, PPPoE (or something similar). What you need to do, is select the PPPoE option and put your ISP login information (that is on your DSL modem now) there should be a connect or login button once your finished. Once that is done, your router does the logging in, instead of the modem.

Hello debbie2, Ok areyou using DSL or Cable. Do this for me takea picture of the equipment you are talking about this will give me an idea of what to connect to what, because right now I am thinking this is how your system is connected. From DSL line to DSL Modem to 2Wire router to PC or From Coaxial cable to Cable modem to 2 wire router to PC That is what I am thinking. You are saying your problem is that the modem is not recogized by the router this could only be true if the modem is not connecting to the router at layer 2 of the OSI model (data link) I would ask you to reset your router to see if it connects to the modem and the pulls an address from the ISP. First I want you to log in to your router via the web page and find out what login and pass word you use to connect to your ISP. To reset your router press and hold the reset button until the lights on the front of the router blink. then log into your router again and restore the login and password. Once this is done check to see if you now have a connection between you and your ISP. Thank you, Shuttle83

Asus Router

Ok I am goin to make some assumptions here, you have dial up service right? first you need to get DSL which allows you to use your Internet and phone at the same time on the same line. The other choice is to get cable modem service which frees up your telephone line because your internet service will be coming over your cable connection. Once you have DSL or cable modem you will need to connect and configure your router. plug the ethernet cable from your Cable modem or DSL Modem into your Router's WAN port the plug your PC into the Router's LAN port. Your PC should pull an IP address using the DHCP protocol. You can check this by opening up a cmd prompt window in Windows and typing in the command ipconfig and pressing the enter key. Once you have your ipaddress (which should be xxx = some number between 2 and 254) try to ping the gateway address by typing in ping and hitting the enter key. you should get 4 ping return indications. Once this happens log into your router via the default gateway IP address ( from your web browser by using the default login and password (these default settings should be in your documentation but the log in is admin or leave the box blank, and the password is admin) once you are logged in set your WANconnectivity for DHCP (cable modem) or PPPOE (DSL). then for DSL put in your login and password given to your by your DSL provided, for cable modem just select the save button (for both) and the the router should pull a WAN side IP address. check this by looking at your router's WAN settings. once you have don this you should be able to connect to the Internet.
