Number Pad on oven does not work

GE Adora Double Oven model number JB855S P3SS has a control panel issue. The numbers (to set the oven temperature do not work) You press "Bake" the Set is flashing with 3 dotted lines (waiting for the desired temp to be input) - There is a small circle in the top right across from the flashing set "VERY" disappointed in GE products since this is just under 2 years old. This will determine if I ever buy another GE appliance again. Tried Control lockout according to manual, nothing happens. No LC on display. Tried powering off and back on, nothing

SOURCE: Whirlpool Double oven - control panel stopped working

Atlanta...sounds like you may have a power supply problem or the panel is bad. Cut the power, open the unit up and see if there is a fuse in there or a reset. No good? Then replace the circuit board. They just, well, die sometime. Happened to my microwave. Some units may be available remanufactured. Look around on the web.

More then likely your electronic clock control board is going bad. After turning the power off, you can also try cleaning the connectors on the clock board and make sure the connectors are tight.

HOW DO I LIGHT OVEN PILOT?

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly

Your model number was missing digits so I used this manual:
GRP17WEWWW
http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=981380002.PDF
and if your unit is older this one:
http://genet.geappliances.com/DocSearch/Dispatcher?REQUEST=ShowPDF&FileName=49-8514.PDF

Automatic Ignition

The oven burner is lighted by electric ignition. To light the burner, press the pad for the desired electrical function and press the INCREASE or DECREASE pad until the desired temperature is displayed. The burner should ignite within 60 seconds. After the oven reaches the selected temperature, the oven burner cycles off completely, then on with a full flame to keep the oven temperature controlled.

GE Answer Center®

Both the new and OLD units use a glow bar for lighting the burner. Most likely your Glow Bar has failed: GE PN: WB2X9154

The Glow Bar is item 316 this link:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=214914&diagram_id=20725728#d20725728

If you net search the WB ge part number you can save lots of money!!!!
http://www.amazon.com/WB2X9154-Gas-Range-Oven-Igniter/dp/B004H3XQPM

If the glow bar is glowing and you still do not get ignition respond here and we can go through troubleshooting.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Double wall oven broiler goes off by itself f7 comes on light bottom oven goes on and off by itself whole panel will not operate and then will--serviceman was in said it is the panel ya think??

it could be the touch panel or the computer board, the model number you gave isn't the full model number like 10 different models came up,next time get the number off of the machine not the book,if this is a newer machine you can push the clear/off pad, unplug the touch panel ribbon for a minute or two,if the code comes back it's the computer board,if it doesn't come back it's the touch panel.he must have pulled out the tech sheet and showed you what it said for an f7 error code and if he said it's the panel he must have done this test.

How do I find the part number for replacing control board for GE?

WB27T10290
I would not be so sure about that the problem is in the control board. Check switches on the door lock assemblies first.

Oven displays F7 error code and does not function

Hi,

Unplug the Oven, Disconnect the Power Supply and then Turn the Oven Back, say after 30 minutes. If the code still appears it could be either Faulty Touch Pad or Computer.

Now,

To check, Turn OFF the Oven as we did earlier, then remove the Control Panel . Disconnect the Ribbon like Cable from the Touch Pad. Disconnect it from the Computer. Turn the Oven, and if Code appears Replace Computer Unless Replace Touch Pad.

It is a Valid Model Number. You could buy the same from :-

Let me know, if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Double oven. Top is digital. It has started

You have a stuck keypad or a bad electronic oven control. Try pressing all buttons at random several times each to unstick a faulty pad. If that does not work the EOC must be replaced.

GE Wall Oven JKP13GOTBB Touchpad is "too sensitive"??

I don't see that exact model number listed. Check the model / serial number again. If the unit is not too old, you can probably get a replacement key panel which should solve your problem.

F1 code on display pad

That error means the main control board has a internal failure. The board will have to replaced to fix that issue. If you need detailed repair help with that visit the link below:

Oven low heat

Did you try going to the GE website to pull up the Use and Care Manual? It does have a section re: how to adjust the temperature by as much as 35 degrees either way. Although it is not the 100 degrees you mentioned, you could try it and see if it helps...

The main GE website is: http://www.geappliances.com/

At the top of the web page is a SEARCH section. You can click on the blue down arrow in the first box and select Use & Care Manuals, then put your model number in the empty box to the right of that selection box, ie. JT952 is my oven.

If you are having a problem locating your model number/serial number, you can go to the FAQ (frequently asked questions) section to see how to find it.
