How to find factory settings partition

While many problems can be solved by less drastic measures, Compaq owners sometimes need to restore their computers back to factory new condition.

If the operating system becomes corrupt, or if the computer is struck with a persistent virus, restoring the PC to its original factory default settings is often the best way to deal with the problem.

While older Compaqs relied on restore CDs to restore factory settings, newer machines come with a recovery partition built into the unit.

Shut down the Compaq computer and wait for it to power off.

Press the "Power" button to restart it.

Press the "F11" key as soon as you see a black screen.

This will boot the Compaq into the recovery partition.

Follow the on-screen instructions to back up any user files before the recovery process begins.

Click "Next" to start the recovery manager and follow the on-screen instructions.

Hope this helps.

Nokia restor restore setting

The phone can be set to default factory settings by opening of the menu- settings- restore factory settings and type 12345. Also if the phone has hung up , there are errors in the software. So to reset remove the battery and the memory card from the phone. Using your PC , scan the memory card for any corrupt files or media files with virus- it is possible when they are downloaded from unsafe sites. If so remove or format the card. Now replace the card and battery and switch on the phone. If the phone hangs up then it is confirmed that the software is corrupt and will need a reinstallation. Seeking help from the authorized service /support centre is most ideal. Take estimate and decide.

How can I restore my system settings in my computer

Well there are several ways to approach this, 1st you can use system restore, to take your system back to a date that it worked fine, to do that go to the start pearl in the search bar type in system restore, click the Icon for system restore it will give you a calendar with several restore points that your computer has saved along the way. your system will go back to those exact settings, now if this is a virus issue, that is beyond system restore then a complete factory default is in order. Depending on what type of computer you have some have build in restore partition that are build in your windows OS. if thats the case simply hit F8 during start up and choose repair your computer and them choose restore to factory condition, this will delete any files you have on your computer and restore it to out of the box condition. System restore will not delete your data but, often restore points themselves are corrupted, my recommendation is to back up your files and do a complete factory restore.
Hope this helps please feel free to ask any follow up questions you may have on this thread.
Take care :)

It has been affected by a virus and all my files have been damaged and turned to shortcut icons and can not open.

I would use your system restore disk to set the machine back to the factory settings. Or take it to someone that can scan and remove the virus to see if your files are still usable. When I had a virus, I restored my system to the factory settings with the system restore disk. Good luck.

My nokia c7 keep restarting

Then it means the battery is not properly seated in the phone. Turn off your phone, then you open the back cover, then you use a clean clothe to clean the battery terminal (the gold metal in the phone that makes contact with the phone), then you pad the battery with a little folded paper so it will make tight connection with the phone. Then you turn on your phone. That should do the job for you.
Try restoring the factory setting of the phone by going to the menu of your phone, select the phones settings, then you select restore factory settings, then the phone will be restored back to the way it was when you first bought it, then you ensure that you do not have large files on the phone.
Hope this information assisted you in solving the problem!

Your computers registries and system files is already corrupted, this could be caused by virus infection. Backup your files and restore your laptops factory settings, soon it will be back to normal.
