My screen darkener has disappeared....how do I get it back

Check to see if you have a daylight savings option in your TV's settings. It will adjust the screen automatically according to the light changes in your home if it is enabled.

Are you asking because the screen has gone dark?Darkness is a backlight issue,can be the screen backlight,inverter or the cable itself causing it.Screen too bright can be adjusted via personalization or often keyboard shortcuts that have what looks like a sun symbol on them,the left key darkens when pressed and the right brightens

if this is not or cant fix the problem you might have restore it to factory settings

Back up your iPod Touch's data to your computer before the restore to prevent losing data.

Pick "iPod Touch" in the Source pane of the iTunes program.

Click on the Summary tab.

Choose "Check for Update."

Select "Restore" and follow the instructions to finish restoring your iPod Touch.

although it does sound like a hardware problem with the ribbon cable leads so if this fails and you are tech savy you could try to open it up and to have a look

Darken the screen and either move the lid forward or backwards. Laptops have Liquid Crystal Screens and moving the lid backwards or forward will give the screen a different look.

If you need to adjust the brightness of the screen it is controlled by keys on your laptop. Most times to darken the screen you will have to hit the FN, CTRL or ALT key and hold it down while you hit the key that corresponds to the screen darken key. On some computers (even on my laptop) it will be the down arrow key, so i would press FN+the down arrow key. Remember to hold the first key down while you hit the next key. The icon used for most times to denote the brightness or darkness looks like a circular sun or a washer that goes on screws.

To adjust the screen contrast (to lighten screen or to darken it)

1. Press the [2nd] key and RELEASE it.
2. Press and HOLD the UP Arrow to darken screen, or
3. Press and HOLD the DOWN Arrow to lighten it.

Keep pressing the UP or Down arrows (whichever you need to press) until the screen contrast is adequate.

In your case, the screen is too dark, so you must press the DOWN arrow to lighten it.

the screen bias needs to be turned down-ehind the front cover which is behind the grille there is a small black square about 3 inch square 6 little knobs sticking out 3 say in small letters screen and 3 say focus, don't adjust the focus just the screen for the coresponding color that shows up when picture is dark.best way to do this is darken the room and put it on video input with no signal if lines are white slowly
adjust 1 color after the other counterclockwise untill
lines disappear if only 1 color shows then only adjust the knob with the matching color. this is a very fine adjustment, to much will make your auto focus stop working. check it after you are done

Red picture tube needs screen voltage adjust. Open fornt or back of TV and look for a black square looking box with adjustment knobs. Look for red screen adj and slowly turn rt or lft until lines just disappear. If screen goes too bright tv will shut down, just turn back on again and retry

Flyback transformers usually have 2 adjustable rods - 1 is for focus the other is for screen (G2) voltage. try turning Clockwise the Screen adjust with brightness-contrast at max. Till you see white diagonal lines, then go back until the lines disappear - then tune the brightness to your desired level.
