The ventilation system will come on when the grill burner is in use. It is not suppose to come on when the burner module is in but it does now. It never use to. Thanks for any assistance.

My drip pan has warped and so the bar on the pan wasn't pushing the level down. I took a pair of plyers and bent the bar down and now the fan does not turn on. Thanks.

My Jenn-Air had the same problem. When you install the drip pan for the burner module, there is a "finger" on the pan that is inserted into a hole in the front of the stove. If you look into that hole, you will see a lever switch. The finger on the drip pan on the burner module is supposed to push that lever switch down and turn the fan off, but over time the lever gets pushed down further and ultimately it does not get activated when the drip pan is installed.
You can either replace the lever switch, or you can try to pull it back into place and tighten the two small screws that hold it in place. Actually, I chose a third option and attached a small, flat spring to the finger on the drip pan.

wow, for years turning on the left side burners would start the fan, so I've learned to (gently) slam the drip pan left or right a few times which would eventually turn off the fan. Who wants to pay for a repair that is really just an inconvenience?! Obviously my switch was only a little bit out of whack because, just now, I bent the drip pan finger down less than 1/4 inch and the problem is SOLVED! thrilling!

It must have a bad fan relay which you can get on http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=42194. It's under 1. Blower assembly plenum and their part # is AP3990101 and cost is $28.28. Would appreciate a solved rating for expert advice. Let me know how it turns out.
