Question about RIM BlackBerry Bold 9000 Smartphone
I have used the lock-key feature quite a bit, to avoid "****-dialing" on my blackberry. The key is on top of the phone to left. However, the phone is responding to any of the keys at all, even on/off key. I get the calls, e-mails, etc and see them on the screen, but I can answer the call or read my e-mails because they keys don't work. It is as if I disable the keys. Took battery out, put it back in. Battery is fully charged. Do you have a solution?
I think the keypad of your phone is not working. You may need to replace it. Hand it over to a skilled person to do the job

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

First I disconnected the battery again and let the unit sit for over an hour. Then I took the phone and went through every button to make sure that one of them was not stuck. For one reason or another after replacing the battery this time the phone started to work again. I had tried taking the battery out while it was turned on to reset the unit a couple of times. The 30 seconds they suggest, and 5-10 minutes. Neither of those attempts fixed the unit. I would say that letting the unit sit and checking for stuck keys allowed the unit to reset itself and everything seems to be working fine now.

This is an odd one. I have worked with Blackberys for many years not come across this.
How long do you take the battery out? Keep the battery out for at least 2-3 minutes.
Also, is the mute key button broken inwards?
Does the Battery Charge still when you plug it to the Mains paower socket?
If the battery is fine then I would suspect the Device having some fault.
Let me know how it goes,

This is because of the BlackBerry Browser as it doesnt support the Video Codecs (protocol).
If you would like to view video content from Youtube, you may have to download other Browser(s).
Another option is "Opera Mini". Which can be downloaded from this address:
on your blackberry browser: Press "goto" and then goto this address.
Select download and install the mini opera 4.2 application.
once up and running, you should be able to play video content on your blackberry.
(for the people who require to view the content on WIFI, they should go to the preferences of the opera mini browser and select the wifi checkbox).
Will appreciate if you can rate the offered support by me.

this isn't a solution. i am having the EXACT same problem. nothing is working. it shuts off for no reason. i didn't touch anything. and it keeps typing "25252525252525252525525" or "ededededededededed" by itself, even though i didn't have any water damage. i cannot click the trackball either but it moves. and i have restarted it so many times, but it still won't work. i also need help.
