Have a MacBook Pro and A Shure SM27 but the sound it's too low on Garage Band

I have a Macbook Pro and I just bought a Shure SM27 microphone. Now I also bought a Shure x2u to connect the microphone to the computer so I could record my voice along with a track. Saddly the sound is just too low. The microphone sounds just fine when I plug headphones and listen but once I'm recording on GARAGE BAND it'll just come out extremely low. If anyone could help, please!

SOURCE: I just bought the Shure SM57LC mic with the X2u

Make sure that Vegas recognizes the mic in the USB input.
You may have to install the microphone in Vegas.

I have the very same mic. It is a dynamic mike and therefore does not require phantom power. These are known for their very low signal output. I have made a small booster to boost the signal for mine but you should be getting some sound out of yours. I would try another known-to-be-good mic in its place. You can check out the great sounbd of this mic at www.oshawarocks.com where I use it only.

Is the Macbook Air enough if I onlz want to use for private leisure?

It's a good product but has it's limitation in terms of no CD/DVD drive, lack of USB ports, quite a small hard drive (80 GB as opposed to 500GB for a low end Macbook Pro), less RAM and smaller screen (11.3 inch as opposed to 13 inch for a Macbook Pro). For another 200 dollars you could buy a macbook pro which has higher specs.

I get a quiet signal when using the mic.

Hi,

You should use the mic input of your computer.
If it's not there, use a microphone pre-amplifier.

Trust headset HS2900 suitable for apple macbook?

On the MacBook there is no microphone port, if you look closely, it is not a microphone plug, it is a line in plug. Line in cannot record sounds from a microphone without amplification. What I would recommend doing is purchasing this adapter: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812186035&cm_re=usb_audio-_-12-186-035-_-Product- With this adapter, you plug your headset and mic into it and then it plugs into the USB port on your MacBook. Then you can just unplug it from the USB port when you are done.

Macbook recognizes dell projector, but not vice versa

Hello,
Your Macbook should automaticaly find the best resolution, if everything was OK. Is there any HDMI input on the dell projector? What projector is it? Is there is an HDMI input, you can use a HDMI to mini DVI cable: better picture and sound than VGA, and will probably solve your problem
