Question about Sharp Car Audio & Video
I wasn't able to lookup a manual for the Sharp GB960. In fact, manuals for any Sharp car audio product was woefully absent.
Try connecting the cables to the input of an amplifier. Female RCA jacks are used for low-level (preamplifier) outputs for subwoofers, sound processors, and additional amps. The impedance of the output is typically in the 20-25Kohm range and would not produce any sound in speakers or even low impedance headphones.
It's also possible that the RCA cables are an "AUX" input to the receiver and not an output. Although many of the mobile audio manufacturers are now using front-mounted phone mini-jacks as "AUX" inputs, some still have rear mounted RCA's.
Hope this helps.
