I replaced the control box and thermostat but i have no power to the thermostat

I know this is an old question but almost all rooftop AC units get thermostat power from the Furnace. If you don't have good 12 volts at the furnace your thermostat will not work.

Power surge now furnace does not work

Look to see if there is a spark clicking noise when you advance the thermostat. If not, the electronic control board is most likely the problem.

Coleman electric Furnace won't come on seems not to receive input from thermostat

There probably is a little transformer that runs the thermostat, at the furnace. If it is separate, it is easy to replace.

Will not heat we replaced both elements but still no hot water rheem model no.82v522marlene we suspect we had a power surge during last storm because the furnace went out also at the same time

Hi I suspect your thermostat will have also been damaged if you had a surge I always replace thermostats at the same time as the elements
Also check the wiring as sometimes surges can melt the copper core of the wiring, but be careful always turn off the power first before any electrical works!

I have a braeburn 3200 thermostat that has went blank on me yesterday. I have checked the fuse box, no tripped breaker, i have checked the switch on the furnace, its on, and there are no batteries. Im not...

If there are no batteries in the thermostat then the furnace was being used to power it. To make sure it is just a thermostat problem, you can jumper the power and heat wires that connect to the thermostat, usually red and white, or terminals R and W. If the furnace comes on, then you need a new thermostat. If that doesn't work, you have lost power at the furnace somehow. If the breakers are good, and the furnace switch is on, then you can have a bad door switch inside the furnace, a bad transformer in the furnace, or a bad circuit board if equipped. If there is a circuit board, they usually have fuses somewhere on them too that can blow. Just be sure to cut power off at the breakers before checking. Hope this helps and good luck!

I have a robertshaw 9420 and the screen is blank it takes no batteries and the reset button has no effect. the manual is of no assistance what so ever

Hi,
You are not getting the 24v power from the furnace...
Either the furnace power is off... the 24v transformer went bad...
or there is a fuse that blew which is interupting the 24v power from the trnasformer...

The blank screen in other words is an indication of amuch larger problem...
you need to find that power problem and fix it...

ere is a tip that will help you try to figure out why your furnace is not working.

RVP 8000 A/C just experienced slight power surge. Compressor on.

I'm leaning toward sticky relay as well, but if you want to confirm it's not thermostat, remove thermostat from wall, and temporarily disconnect the yellow wire from thermostat (compressor) when/if, it happens again. If compressor stays running, I'd say relay for sure.
Just for future reference , Gray wire from thermostat is low fan, green wire is high fan, yellow is compressor, blue is ground. ( For cooling side) The red is 12 v + to furnace and white is negative to furnace.(heat side)

Thermostat not turning on furnace.

Hi, You need to go to the furnace to see if you have lost the 24 volt supply, the transformer. If you have a circuit board, see if it has a 3 to 5 amp fuse plugged into it that is blown. This will kill power to stat causing nothing to work. Let me no what you find and we can go from there.
