Question about LG 22" FLATRON LCD Monitor

Analog Power Saving Mode Problem!

Whenever i am playing my PC game The Godfather 2 i set the display settings to 1680 x 1050 @ 60 Hz. The graphics look very nice on this setting but however, after about 10 minutes of gameplay my monitor will just go black saying Analog Power Saving Mode. I run all of my other games on that same resolution setting with no problems but this game does it for some reason.

Ive also tried putting the settings to 1024 x 768 @ 60 Hz which is a HUGE downgrade graphics wise. I am able to play for about 35 minutes until my monitor goes black and have to restart my computer in order to get it going again.

Is there any way i can disable this power saving **** and play on 1680 x 1050 @ 60 Hz at ease?

Have you checked you power saving options in Control panel.
If this is a desktop, unless you are a energy miser, I would change your power saving options to never on all options, turn off hibernation and suspension for when you are playing games.
You can find this in control panel under power Options.
Let me know if this helps.
Thank you

Please tell me the make and model number of your monitor. I will see if I can find you a manual for monitor to show us how to turn off the power saving feature.
    Thanks

I did some searching around for you.
It seems some other people are having this issue too. It does not seem to be your monitor.
Here is what I would do.

    1. Update your Video card drivers.
    2. see if there is a game update from EA.
    3. they (EA) have also mentioned that it maybe a heat issue. I doubt this since you play other games with no problems.
I would try the first two before looking any further.
Sorry I don't have a more definitive answer for you. but there could be a 1000 different things occurring when this happens.
Try those and re post problem if it doesn't correct itself.
I would need more info about your system. and what Directx you are using. and video card and driver date. Memory in PC. O.S (Vista) 64? 32? Home? Ultimate? etc. Service pack?
    Good luck.
    Please rate my assistance

The next step I would take would be to determine if it is the monitor or the system causing the problem. To do this I would change to a different monitor if you have the op.

I would also make sure no screen saver is active before starting game.

I would also run the program ad Administrator. If you dont know how to do this. let me know.

This problem may take some trial and error to find the culprit.
It maybe even a bad install of the game. It could also be a bad sector on the HDD where the game is installed. uninstalling defragmenting and reinstalling would help that.

These are suggestions for next course of action, not solutions.

Confusion installing drivers on Dell Latitude 120L laptop running XP

to run duel screens you will need a graphic board that has 2 outlets
I run a nvidia board and it has a dvi and vga outlets connected to 2 monitors
open up the control panel and go to display

that will show 2 screens and they will be identified as 1 and 2
the printing will be for one screen and it will say -make this my main screen
further down will be a dropdown box that will have extend screen
click on that
as for the screen size or pixal settings click and drag the slide button up to the top and click on apply
any way in that display section you can move and click on different settings to get what you want, always apply to fix the settings selected
it will come back with a message --do you want to retain the settings and if you are happy --click on yes
regardless of what you choose , you can always reset at a later time

Depends on the game you are playing .. Chk the min graphics card spec needed.. that card you have is pretty old to play heavy games.
Try playing in windowed mode if game supports with low graphic settings

Analog power saving mode

If its going to analog power saving mode, that is what its supposed to do when it does not get a recognizable connection from a computer vga port. I would suggest coming back on with some more information about your computer and suggest testing another screen on your pc.
