Spark plug gap?

I have a Craftsman weed trimmer model#316-796150, 31cc engine. No repair manual. My question is: What should the spark plug be gapped at?

316.79108. What is the proper gap for the sparkplug?

The gaps are 99% preset... Get a E3 spark plug, they cover multiple part number plugs. For example, if you have a BPMR6Y, a BPMR7Y, RCJ6, etc, one of the E3 plugs will cover them all and will already be gapped accordingly. If your equipment isn't running smoothly, it's most definitely not the gap of the plug... unless you're working on a pre 95 vehicle.

What is the correct spark plug gap?
The spark plug gap on all products is .025-inch.

What type of spark plug does the unit take?
The size of the plug varies from unit to unit. On trimmers, blowers and hedge trimmers is RCJ-8Y or RCJ-6Y. Follow the spark plug recommendation and replacement procedures in the operator's manual if you are doing the work yourself.

25cc Craftsman line trimmer: - will not start. - no spark across the gap of the plug - plug shows no corrosion.

Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya
normally on these when you dont recieve a spark and you are 100% sure that the spark plug is good than the only thing left to check is the ignition coil
It is what the plug wire is connected to kind of a square or round part these are nortorious for going out in small engines this is a 35 dollar part ok?
thee if this does not do it check the on off switch for continuity
Then finaly Check the flywheel cover, the magneto gap and starter coil if there's still no spark.

Easy way to test plug is to remove it from cylinder head, then ground its hex base to side of engine..reattatch plug wire and pull starter cord...Do this is dim light...need to see a nice blue spark. So, do that...check the plug gap and plug condition (even if new)...if it's NOT firing...try another plug...if same...you will need to pull the engine covers off and check the "air gap" of the flywheel magnets to the pickup legs on the ignition coil module. You can gap it the thickness of a regular business card (.010"-.014"). The gap has to be present for the spark plug to produce a spark.

25 cc craftsman weed trimmer.\r\nNot getting spark

If you're sure it's not getting spark, the first thing to check would be the "air-gap" setting between the magnets on the flywheel and the ignition coil module . The correct setting basically only requires the use of a regular business card and is around .010"-.014" If there is an air gap present, check it and then you can move on to diagnose the coil module ( they don't go bad very often) if necessary.
