Unit not working

You should also try rubbing the ionizing wires with 600 grit finishing paper first.

If that does not work, you can purchase the cells individually from many vendors. But I would give the finishing paper a try first. The ionizing wires do funny things to silicone compounds, it usually results in the ionizing wires getting slighly glassified, or coated with silicon dioxide..

Red light will not go off

The only other light I'm aware of is the light in the back of the machine attached to the radio frequency ionizer. This light lets you know that both of the ionizers including the needle point ionizer are working. When the light is off, it means the ionizers need cleaning or service. When I clean my machines, I always clean off both ionizers w/ a 50/50 solution of Ammonia w/ a paper towel. I do this the same time I clean the ozone plate. If you're machine is still under the 3 year warranty, you can send it back to be fixed for no charge except shipping. I hope this helps.

Honeywell HHT-011 Air Purifier red light will not turn off even after cleaning the filter three times.

For those who's red light will not turn off after cleaning. There is a little button by the red light indicator. Take a paper clip and hold in for about 5 seconds. Light will then turn off.

Honeywell htt 011 air filter light won't go off

Thank you to MPODHOLA. After cleaning your Honeywell HHT-011, if the red light does not turn off locate the very small button under the red light. As suggested use a paperclip, hold the button for 5 seconds and this resets the system. Make sure the unit is on when you hold down the button. I tried it with the unit off and it did not work. Turned on the unit, held down the button for 5 seconds and the system reset. No more red light.

Can you tell me the difference between the Honeywell Tower Air Purifier HHT-081 and HHT-090? From what I find, they seem identical.

I am 99.9% sure that you are simply looking at this year vs. last year models. There are absoutly no significant changes. I will verify on Mondayas I know the engineer at Honeywell that works on this particular product!

When ionizer is on even

Hi willy,

The ionizer itself shouldn't smell. I wonder if you're smelling O3 (aka ozone or activated oxygen), or if there's a short-circuit of some kind that is causing electrical components to overheat/burn. Burning electronics and singed hair smell more alike than ozone (which isn't the same as ionization, incidentally.

Write back with more details if you can, preferably with any details about your observations.

If I can be of further assistance, let me know. If this solves the issue, please rate it accordingly.

Thanks in-advance for using Fixya.com,

Jon

Annoying ticking

My air purifier was doing the same thing. The ticking noise you are hearing is caused by dust build up on the ionizer pins. When the ionizer pins collect too much dust, they tend to start making the clicking/ticking sound caused by static electricity. The solution is simple. Take the filter out and clean it real good (follow directions on filter on how to clean). Now, with the filter out, if you look down inside the vent where the filter was, you'll see a white piece of plastic with nine holes in it that are about the size of a silver dollar. Directly in the center of each hole there will be something that looks like a needle, those are the ionizer pins and they will probably have dust built up on them. Next, with the filter out, blow out the air purifier with compressed air to clean all the dust off the ionizer pins. This should take care of the problem, it worked on mine.
