YAMAHA CD PLAYER WON'T PLAY

I HAVE A YAMAHA STEREO SYSTEM AT HOME.  RECENTLY WE HAD NEW FLOORING INSTALLED.  THE ENTERTAIMENT CENTER WHERE MY SYSTEM IS HOUSED WAS MOVED AND AFTER THE FLOOR INSTALATION WAS COMPLETED THE UNIT WAS PLACED BACK.  I DISCOVERED THAT THE CD PLAYER DOES NOT PLAY.  WHEN I PLACE CD'S IN THE CARRIAGE THE UNIT CLOSES AND SEEMS LIKE IT DOES  NOT READ THE CD, ACTUALLY IT DOESN'T DO ANYTHING THEN THE UNIT OPENS UP.  WHATS UP WITH MY CD PLAYER.

THANKS GG

GG  My kids had a PlayStation 2 that did this and so did my AIWA 3 CD player.  The solution for the PlayStation was to remove the cover use alcohol and clean the lens of the laser reader.  They get dust on them and simply cannot read.  The AIWA required replacement of the laser which cost almost as much as the unit and didn't last 6 months.

RX-V665 Yamaha reciever has been working great. Use it for surround sound and outside, zone two speakers. Recently started turning off during movies. I run blu-ray through receiver. When playing Star Wars...

You may find a solution by doing some of the things I have tried - see below

I recently puchased this model to replace an older Yamaha system that also had this shut-off problem. The new RX665 system has the same problem but I check the impedance setting using the instruction in the manaul anyway. The problem persists. I have check all speaker wire to make sure nothing was touching. I did find one wire touching on the center speaker but the problem persist.

Since the problem followed me when I moved and with a new amp, I am beginning to think I am have a speaker that's causing this - maybe the sub.

Duet Vibrates the whole house on the spin cycle. it has started this only when we recently moved.

The key statement that you made was the fact that you recently moved. Some questions you may ask yourself:

Where was your washer installed in your old home as compared to where it is installed now?

Did you re-level the feet after you moved the washer?

Did any of the shock mounts come dislodged during the move?

Is the flooring in your new home substantial enough to handle the weight and spinning action of a front loader?

The following link can give you some things to consider when trying to figure out what may be causing excessive vibration:

You may not like hearing some of this, but I can assure you, I have dealt with this problem numerous times. In the majority of cases, substantial flooring was causing the problem.

Read through the link provided and let me know if you have any questions. I hope you find the information helpful in some way.

I was recently given a pair of Yamaha 2075c Power Amplifiers that were being updated in an auditorium setting. Would it be a worthwhile endeavor to recycle these "older" technology amps in a rack mounted...

This amp is only rated at 75WRMS / channel

Great for home stereo or the studio or voice only PA system but not for gigging out

Yamaha's website has the manual

LG front loading washer: recently moved to a new house and laundry room is on the 2nd floor. Re-installed the shipping bolts in the back of the washer that secures the drum prior to moving the washer. But...

Make sure machine is level and all four leveling legs are solidly touching floor at the same time. Make sure leveling leg locking nuts are screwed up to lock legs in place. Check floor for firmness. (try bouncing up and down in front of washer to see if the floor has excessive give.) You may need to re-inforce floor. Wash larger loads. On bulky items, use a lower spin speed. You can re-spin at a higher speed after cycle is complete if you want them spun out better. (some models have a pump and spin only setting, on others, just turn on the power and then only touch the spin speed button to select a 14 minute pump and spin only cycle, then touch the start button.) The only other thing is that the new LG washers use a balance ring now, which makes the machine perform much smoother. (I know because I gave my old LG to my son and replaced it with the newer model, which now runs much quieter, in the exact same location as the old one.)

Center channel quit woring

The center channel amplifier in the main unit isn't working. Check the warranty. If it's still in force Yamaha will fix it free. If out of warranty, they'll give you an estimate.
