Do you have an internet connection on your computer? My Toshiba shows all media is disconnected and even shows a red X on my internet connection, but I am connected to the internet. I believe it is a driver that needs to be updated. Your question is very vague so I can not really give you a solid answer.

SOURCE: I can't connect to the internet from computer.

make sure vista recignized your wifi card.
control panel, add/remove hardware- hardware list- if not there then search for new hardware. if it is there, then right click and select drivers at the top dropdown menu then update driver.
Also, go to dell.com find the support section and find drivers and downloads. Enter service tag number and select wireless as your category and install the necessary driver for your dell laptops wifi card

Laptop can't access internet

Try this sequence in a command prompt (run as administrator) and see if it helps:

ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig
exit

If you can ping, you have to have some connection. Try checking your firewall software to make sure you aren't being blocked there. Try running the Network Troubleshooter to see if it finds any problems.

Can you tell me the default IP address for this unit as I have lost the pass word and need to reset the unit

If your computer is plugged into the router, you can easily get the router's IP address by going to your command prompt and typing "ipconfig" without the quotes.

Command Prompt is under Start (or Orb if using Win7 or Vista) > All Programs > Accessories

After typing "Ipconfig" and hitting return, command prompt should display something like this:

Windows IP Configuration

Ethernet adapter Wireless Network Connection:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : blah.blah.comcast.net.
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.196
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:
Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected
Ethernet adapter PdaNet Broadband Connection:
Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected

The router's address is your "Default Gateway." You should be able to put that address into an Internet Explorer window and it will bring up the configuration interface.

If you find this helpful, please rate me -- trying to get my "Wiz" rating so that I can provide Premium service.

Thanks,
Chris

How to enable WPA security. i tried to enter the http://www.192.168.0.1 but the page is not showing theres no admin page.help pls

Try http://192.168.0.1 - you don't enter www. in front of an IP. Check that this is actually your routers IP address by doing Start > Run. Type "cmd" without the quotes and press Ok. In the black window that pops up, type "ipconfig" without the quotes. You'll see something like this:

Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
(C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.

C:\Documents and Settings\root>ipconfig

Windows IP Configuration

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.2
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection 2:

Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected

Ethernet adapter Bluetooth Network Connection:

Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected

C:\Documents and Settings\root>

If your Default Gateway Value is 192.168.0.1 then you're good to go, otherwise this value will be what your routers address will probably be.

Setting up routher

Try setting the router to factory defaults by holding the reset button on the back of the router for 10-15 seconds. After the router resets, open the CMD window on the computer by clicking start/run type cmd, type ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew this should make the connection from the computer to the router.
