Question about Onkyo TX-SR602 Receiver
I have an Onkyo TX-SR602 Receiver. I saw a spark shoot out the back of the unit with an accompanying pop. The unit shut off. I turned it back on and the readout on the front of the unit indicated "Protect Mode" What could cause this and how do you fix it. About how much would it cost to fix it?
Repair shop will charge around $150 to repair.

Sounds like your receiver is fried. Your best choice is probably to take it to a repair facility, where they can figure out what component failed, or to buy a new receiver.
