Listen up, I have had a pretty bad virus on my computer before where this guy hacked in and created his own user account on my computer! Will, I noticed that my computer was detecting any viruses! Thats because he put a virus on my virus detector, so it couldnt detect viruses! I downloaded a different virus detector and got his viruses off of my computer right away! Try downloading a different virus protecter and try that!

Try starting in Safe Mode. Restart the computer and press F8 repeatedly (before you see the Windows logo). This hopefully will bring up a menu including Safe Mode with Networking. Use the arrow keys to select the option and press Enter. It may also as you to select an operating system. If it does just press Enter. During this step you may see information scroll down the screen but this is normal.
After that, you should see the Users login screen. Just choose the normal account that you use and login. You will see the Safe mode prompt then choose No to start System Restore.
Here is information on System Restore and some other options that may correct your issue. Hope this helps. Please remember to rate this information.

First off check that you havent set the Alternate display mode FN+F5 or FN+F6. or on a dell use FN+F8
If you have an external display hook it up to that and see if you get a picture.
If not then as you power up listen for any beeps (these are known as computer post codes) and look them up on the web or the dell site.
Dell also make available the "Service manuals" for most of thier stuff so go download that too as most of them have a step by step troubleshooting chart you can easily follow

When going into safemode try selecting safemode with networking. If possible go to malwarebytes.org and download their free software. If still unable to download it try using another pc and download the program to a flashdrive/thumbdrive. Once the program is installed you will be able to run it in safemode. This particular program catches just about everything in it's scans and is a great supplemental tool to your regular virus software. If more assistance is needed don't hesitate to ask.
