Looks a real problem to me. It is one of the early Coolpix cameras around, so it could be the beginning of the end of its life. I hope not.
Please try to remove the battery and charge it complete. In the mean time give the camera some rest. Alter a while, place the battery back and switch the camera on. If the error comes back, you could ask a Nikon centre what it would cost just to check the camera and what it would cost to repair. In the mean time check what a new Coolpix will cost and then decide repair or buy a new.

Rule out the signal source by seeing if same issue when a DVD etc is used.

Usually a wave like motion from bottom to top is either signal related or a problem in the power supply (wave moves from bottom to top suggests that).

If not on rear inputs (A/V) it is not the power supply.

Model number is not indicated here and might be helpful.

Screen is rolling constantly

. Sounds like its time for a new lcd screen. Try plugging an external monitor to the laptop and see if it behaves the same way. If the external monitor scrolls, then you more than likely have a Video Card problem. If the external monitor displays without scrolling then your lcd screen is bad.

Plug in an external monitor and see if the display shows up on it. It can be any kind of monitor even the old big fat crt monitors as long as it has a vga cable to connect to your computer's vga port. If so that proves your video card is ok. The video will show on most systems when you reboot without you having to do anything. Some systems will require you to hit the FN (Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold down the FN key then hit the correct key for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru F12). The correct key will normally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have the icon of a display

Laptop monitor screen is rolling rapidly, constant scrolling no horizonal control

Sounds like you need a new inverter. Don't know what kind of laptop you have, but you can typically find the replacement on ebay. The inverter for your LCD is usually located just below the LCD. You will have to remove the screws holding the lid together around the LCD. The inverter is usually a long, skinny circuit board with at least one set of pink & white wires connected to it. Not all inverters are the same so make sure that you get the proper part to replace it with.

Problem for RIM BlackBerry Bold 9000 Smartphone Track ball does not allow south scrolling; it only allows east, west, north, scrolling. What can I do to fix?

Hi,
1) Try to re-install the BlackBerry® Device Software using the application loader tool, before you re-install the software please back up the BlackBerry smartphone data.
2) The trackball user interface found on certain BlackBerry smartphones is similar to the trackball used in a mouse in conjunction with a desktop computer. In the event debris comes in contact with the trackball and affects the usability of the BlackBerry smartphone, rapidly roll the trackball up, down, left, or right to potentially correct the problem. If rapidly rolling the trackball does not correct the problem, please contact your wireless service provider for support options.

How do I change the print head on a Xerox 8500?

Hi there,

How to remove a printhead
  1. Press the on-line / off-line key on the printer operator panel to set the printer off-line.
  2. Use the upper softkeys to scroll to the 'Replace printhead' card
  3. Press the softkey below the 'Replace printhead' card to enter the wizard.
An introduction screen displays the message 'Use this wizard to replace printheads. A roll is needed for calibration.'
  4. Press the key for 'Next'.
The screen displays the message 'Select roll to use'.
The system does a calibration at the end of the wizard. You can only calibrate on the defined media types. When calibration is not possible with the media available on the printer, the system asks you to load the correct media. When calibration is possible with one of the rolls, the system automatically uses the correct media roll. When calibration is possible with both rolls, use the lower softkeys to select the roll to use.
  5. Press the key for 'Next'.
The screen displays the message 'Carriage moving to centre position...' while the carriage moves to the centre.
The screen displays 'Open top cover.'
  6. Open the top cover. The screen displays the message 'Replace printheads' and the printheads that you must replace. Find the correct printhead number on the printhead carriage.
  7. Press the front of the printhead cover to unlock the cover.
  8. Open the printhead cover.
  9. Pull out the printhead and remove it.
How to place a printhead
  1. Remove the protective tape from the new printhead.
Do not touch the contact and nozzle areas of the printhead after you remove the protective tape.
  2. Place the new printhead in the printhead holder.
The printhead only fits in one way.
  3. Close the printhead cover.
  4. After you replaced the defective printhead, press the softkey for 'Next'
  5. The screen displays the message 'Make sure that all head covers are properly positioned.'
    Press the key for 'Done'.
The screen displays the message 'Close top cover.'
  6. Close the top cover.
The screen displays the message 'Carriage moving to home position...'
  7. The screen displays 'Calibrating...'.
The calibration process takes several minutes.
You can stop the calibration process at any time. Press the key for 'Cancel' to stop the calibration process.
