Perhaps its using its own address that is forcing the other computers to lose theirs. Under its network settings, make sure its set to DHCP. This means it will get an auto-IPadress from the router and not use its own one.

Having a problem connecting my wireless Laptop to my PCs wireless Router? Laptop will not connect but Tablets do with ease!!

you need to give a bit more information as to which OS you are using, if you are using win 7 go to your main machine and click start, and select "control panel" check you are viewing by "category" (top right), then under the "network and Internet" click "choose homegroup and sharing options" near the bottom you will see "view or change the homegroup password", make a note of this exactly as it is caps included, then on the machine you want to include in the network do the same and look for "join a homegroup" and type in the password you got from your main machine. that should sort it. If you get ipv6 errors use google to find the fixit from Microsoft. hope tha helps a bit.

Desk top/ethernet to linksys router not recognizing.

First connect that desktop to linksys with ethernet cable.
then set ip property to network adapter .
Set ip address ,subnet mask and gateway ip to ip property.
Set ip address as the ip of network like if router ip is 192.168.1.1 so set ip like 192.168.1.15
set subnet mask as same as your other computer.
Set default gatway ip as your router ip.
Then you can connect internet.
Let me know if you need more assistance.

Thanks.

My wireless hp says router cannot find host name

Double check your physical connection. It should be this way

Modem > connected to Internet Port of the router
PC > connected to port 1
Laptop > can be wireless

Now you must power cycle your router and modem. Turn off router first then modem. Wait for 30 seconds. Power on modem first, then the router. You must configure the wireless settings on your laptop it doesn't connect automatically.

Laptop Cannot Find Home Wireless Network

Try logging into the router with your desktop hard-wired and find the 25-digit passcode and use that to log on to the wireless network with the laptop. If not, then check if connection is good by hard-wiring the router to the laptop. Let me know what happens or if you have solved the problem.

Can I piggyback a wireless router onto a hard-wired router?

Yes, you can connect the DI-624 to your exitsing EBR-2310, you just need to connect the a cable from port 4 of the EBR-2310 to the internet/wan port of the DI-624, then after that you can already use now the wireless to your laptop and also the wired router to your desktops.
But I may suggest you to just replace the EBR-2310 with the DI-624 so you will only be using 1 router that can cater your laptop and also your desktop, Just connect the cable from your modem that is conencted now to your EBR-2310 to the internet/wan port of the DI-624 then run the setup CD that should be it.

Hope that helps...........

Try and change the cable from the router to computer with a new one and do the same with the modem and see if connects. Hopefully it's just the cables that are faulty.

Need help

Is your laptop working completely -- including to the internet to access web pages with its current router attachment?

Is the laptop connected wirelessly or by a wire?

Is the desktop connected with a wire or wirelessly?

Was the desktop connected to another device before?

Was the desktop configured to login before especially if it was not connected to the router before?

Did you configure the router to do the login that used to be done by the desktop before, if that was the case?

If the router is now doing the login did you configure the desktop not to login if it is no longer needed?

Did you configure IP addresses, subnet masks, gateway addresses or DNS addresses into the router before?

Does having the router mean these should be removed and the desktop switched to accept dymanic addressing from the router?

These are quite a few questions and you may not be able to answer them all. Answer what you can in a comment to this issue and I will attempt to determine a plan to get your desktop connected.
