My brush bar keeps falling down. We replaced motor but now the brushes don't spin.

Hi! If you've replaced the turbine & gear assembly and the brushes are still not spinning, a replacement brush-block assembly may be needed. The brushes counter rotate and need each other to spin. If a single brush is falling out, the brush assembly is broken. If the whole brush assembly keeps falling out, the drive pin shaft may be damaged. To order a replacement brush-block follow the link below.

I have an electrolux discovery II vacuum cleaner and the floor function works, but when I try to switch over to carpet mode, it doesn't seem to engage.

There is a red reset button on the back of the machine. When it trips, the brush won't engage. Press the reset button and then try your machine again.

The spinning brush on the side kept falling off. I would put it back on as the little screw usually remained with the brush. Last time it fell off (it has every time I've used it) I lost the tiny little...

Its so annoying to find Roomba after he's finished cleanin only to see that once again he's lost his brush. How to keep your Roomba from losing his brush- items needed: quick steel putty (local hardware store), crazy glue, original screw (or similar), toothpick, and screwdriver. It seems to be that Roomba loses his brush because the threading in the plastic insert the screw goes attached to gets worn-out, so even when you put the screw back in it'll eventually fall out while he's working. Begin by cutting off a very tiny piece of the putty (follow instructions on package) and stick that into the screw hole. Now that it's filled up, use the toothpick to create a hole inside the plastic screw hole where the screw normally fits. You go will windup taking most of the filler material out as the final fix winds up using very little putty. Let the putty dry per the manufacturer instructions. Once it is dry use the screw to create the new threading in the steel putty. Do this by screwing the screw into the insert slowly backing it in and backing it out a little at a time. Try not to wobble the screw as you do this. Once you get a good fit take the screw back out, now it's time to put the brush back in. Put in a couple of drops of crazy glue in the hole and put the brush and screw back in. Let it dry for at least overnight just to be sure. And that's it! If you're not very hands-on it might be better to let somebody else do it for you, you don't want to get the steel putty or crazy glue into any of the moving parts and then ruin the assembly.

My brush keeps falling off the bottom of my steam cleaner

The snap in clips have been broken off the brush housing. You will need to replace the brush assembly.

My brush assembly fell off!

They lock into that blue arm with the two holes in it. The erm is plastic and has the spring loaded latches that hold the brushes in. If the latches have failed the brushes won;t stay in. The other option is the latch pins on the brushes have brocken or worn out. Turn the machine over and try to make the brushes latch, also push the brush release buttons several time to make sure they are working. Good-luck.

I took off the brush roller to clean it and now I can't get the roller to work unless the machine is standing upright. The side that's not connected to the belt keeps falling out.

The solution for your situation is as follows: You need to put the retraining clips on over the arms to properly put them in place You most likely put the retaining clips on too early.
