You must let it complete or you will not get in to try it again. What you must do if decide what the cause of you reinstalling in the first place. Have you a faulty hard drive?

Maybe there is a read error, in which case download a windows ISO and use that to reinstall windows, then install the drivers from the manufacturers web site maybe the only answer.

Acer eRecovery stalls at Installing Offic 2010 (22/38)

Was this version of Office 2010 included on the original install?
Was it a trial version (valid for 60 days or so) or is it the final version you still used before starting the recovery?

If it was on the original install and it's the final version, it SHOULD work. All you can do:
1. Try again from the start
2. Call Acer customer service, complain and have them sent the recovery flash drive for free, because obviously something is wrong with the version on the recovery partition.
If those disks fail also, it most likely is a hardware issue. Then ask for a (free for you) separate copy of Office 2010.

Software installation

Office is not normally a part of "recovery". How are you recovering? From a factory supplied disk or with a backup you made? Where are you getting your Office files...a legit MS disk or a bootleg copy?

It seems that your OS has registry problem, there are only two ways to fix it:-

1) Re-install your Windows with Re-partition your drives (In that case you have to take backup of your all data.)

2) Start PC in Safe mode, then download a reliable program like i always use Reginout to fix my OS registry properly.

System recovery boot

The Acer Aspire line of netbooks have two methods to restore the computer to a working state: System Restore, an application included with Windows, or Acer eRecovery Management, a proprietary application that is packaged with Acer PCs.

If errors appear when running Windows, or if the computer begins to behave strangely, first run System Restore to determine whether reverting the PC to a previous state fixes the problem.
If the problem remains unresolved, or worsens, you can use Acer eRecovery Management to format the hard drive and reload the Acer Aspire netbook to its factory state.

Navigate to the "Start" menu. Select the "Control Panel."
Type "restore" into the Search box.
Press "Enter" then select "Restore Your Computer to an Earlier Time" from below the "Action Center."
Click "Open System Restore."
Click "Next" on the "Restore System Files and Settings" screen.

Select a restore point that was created when the computer was functioning properly. Click "Next," then click "Finish."
Click "Yes" to confirm.
Windows will perform a system recovery on the Acer Aspire One.

Acer eRecovery Management

Turn on the Acer netbook. Hold down the "Alt" and "F10" buttons simultaneously on the boot screen to load Acer eRecovery Management from the recovery partition.

Select "Restore Operating System to Factory Defaults" from the options.

Click "Next" to recover the system to its original state.

How can i get past an error reading BOOTMGR is missing?

To recover the system from the hidden partition follow the instructions below.

  1. Restart the computer.
  2. When the Acer logo appears on the screen, press the left Alt, and the F10 keys.
  3. If you are prompted with a Microsoft Windows boot screen, press the Enter key.
  4. After the Acer eRecovery Management application has loaded, select your restore type.
  5. Read the notice, and then click Next when you are ready.
  6. Click Next to begin the restore process. The restore can take anywhere fom 10 minutes up to an hour.
  7. Once the restore is complete your computer will reboot. Upon rebooting it will load Windows and start installing your drivers and software. Your computer will reboot several times during this process. After everything is complete your computer will be like it was when you first purchased it.

You can, if available, purchase a Recovery disk from Acer. That said, if you have a Recovery Partition, By rebooting and using the restore/recovery ALT+ F-10 keys. On page 59 : and this may be useful: IF you are doing a Factory recovery on a XP Machine, I would put on a pot of coffee. I recently did the same, with hundreds of Windows and Computer manufacturer's update it took 36 hours stright. Good Luck.

Frozen keyboard & mouse on Acer Notebook

You may have a motherboard failure problem. I would ask you to check the drivers and update them but will be hard to do if you can't get past load screen. You best bet may to get a copy of system recovery and boot pc with the disk installed. Wipe computer completely clean and reinstall windows.
