Need to restore default/factory settings

I need to restore the factory settings on my player. One of the settings in either the SETUP or PROGRAM option on the remote got changed and now the TV screen is blank. The setting was changed from the first/top opiton to the second and now I can't see any menus or anything in order to change the setting back. Is there a way to restore the factory/default settings on the player?

Security code

I have a manual, try going into Setup mode then go to Custom Setup. In the drop down box, go to Default and by selecting this your player should default to factory default settings. The password then is set to factory default "8888". Under the Parental Control section of the Custom Setup Menu, you may try selecting bullet "8" also. Hope this helps.

Ok I'm going to walk you through this...

Turn the DVD player on... give it a second to load up

Now Press Setup.. now navigate down 5 times Press Enter

Navigate down once Press Enter... Or it might just be a Press enter I'm reading from the manual. Click here for the Manual

That is the way to get to the factory default button in the setup.. If your having trouble doing that try using the manual to see where to go to get back to the NTSC settings

Screen reads FACTORY DIAG MODE

I had the "Factory Diag Mode" and was dismayed that I could not find a solution in any of my online searches. But I finally got it to work with only a minor side-effect, so I thought I'd share.

I originally tried the following from the "Live XM" mode:
Go settings, setup, restore defaults, restore setting only.

That didn't seem do anything for me. Then I tried the same thing from the "My Music" mode.
That fixed it!!!
The only thing that I noticed that I lost was my channel favorites (hardly a worry at all). All of my saved songs and playlists are still there!!!

Hopefully this will help a poor soul in need
