First is it a USB or PS2 mouse? You can tell as the USB will be a flat connector and PS2 a circular one. Can you also tell me what version of Windows you have and what make your PC is?

How do I replace myDell mouse with a new GE mouse

Close the system down, remove your old mouse and fit the new one and restart your computer. It should detect the new mouse and work, or it should say new hardware detected.

Light underneath turns on, but cursor doesn't move and I can't click anything

Unplug it, restart your computer and try it again. Only this time plug it in before you restart the computer. It should detect the new hardware. If that doesn't work, try another USB port. Could be a problem with the internal functions of the mouse also. Good luck

Unifying receiver not recognizing M505 Wireless Mouse

You mentioned about using the mouse in your friend's computer but you didn't mention if it worked or not. Did it work?
You also mentioned that your friend has the same model which works perfect with his computer. Did you try his mouse in your computer? Did it work?
If his mouse works just fine in your computer then you would need to replace your mouse because it's defective.

Cannot hook to internet

This may not be a solution, but I recently was attacked by a free software website, that disabled my internet connection settings.

In Internet Explorer properties, or the menu item Tools / Options, there is a tab called "Connections" this is where your computer's internet connection decisions are made.
One option, in the LAN Settings button, is to "Automatically Detect Settings". My attacker somehow repeatedly disabled this option and I had to enable this each time I restarted my computer.

Something to try.

Computer won't recognize mouse now......

I'm going to assume that your mouse has a USB connection, it may have a stuck flag in the registry. Each time you shut down your computer, the flags should close, when you restart, each device is reinstalled. If you have a stuck flag Windows will think the device is already installed.
If that is the case, shut down and remove the USB mouse. Hook up a PS2 mouse, restart, go into the regestry and remove all the USB mice listed under USB mouse. Save the changes, restart, then remove the PS2 mouse and plug your USB mouse in. Windows should detect new hardware and reinstall it.

Computer will not start after hooking up mouse

Try disconnecting the mouse and start again, I suspect a driver issue but with windows Vista that should not happen. But remove the mouse boot up, and try installing the drivers for the mouse before you connect it the the computer. This is a unusual case since Vista normal would detect the drivers automatically for you. Give me more info on this problem.

Sometimes, USB Keyboard and USB Mouse give such problems. Try using conventional (PS/2) Keyboard and Mouse.

My Genius Gpen 4500 has shown no Pressure recognition on Photoshop, Painter and the wizard.

Hello. I'm not quite sure if this will be useful for you, but i'll tell you what happened to me. I bought the very same model but without the mouse, the G-pen450. When I just bought it, I just intalled the driver from the CD, and both the painter X and photoshop cs1 trials included. I had no problem when I was drawing in photosho cs1, but when I uninstalled it and and installed photoshop cs2, I was still able to draw with the pen, but it had no pressure sensibility, no matter how hard did I press the pen against the table or how many times i enabled or disabled the pressure settings in both photoshop and the tablet driver.

what i did was downloading the new driver (the 2.0 version) for the g-pen450 from the genius page, and simply installed it ... and it didn't work, worse; now even the pen suite didn't recongize the pressure control, so, what I did was to uninstall the WHOLE software included with the table along with the driver, and then I reinstalled the new version (2.0). After I installed it, the instaling program asked me to restart the computer, so I did it. Then, after the computer was done restarting, I connected the tablet to a USB port, and then the computer recognized it, actually it told me that it recognized the tablet, two HID compatible dispossitives, and a HID compatible mouse pen. It opened that window that appears everytime you connect new hardware to the computer, and it proceeded to "install" all the drivers needed for the dispossitives.

After the computer finished installing, it asked again to restart the PC, soooo I restarted it again, when it was done, I connected the tablet once again, and this time it displayed that "your new hardware is installed and ready to use" balloon on the bottom right corner of the screen. So I tried opening photoshop CS2 again and drawing with the tablet, and this time it did work perfectly.

I think it's matter of uninstalling the old driver, and the bundle software (annotate all, pen commander, pen mail, pen signer, etc. ) and then instaling the 2.0 version of the driver.
