Freezer keeps freezing up

Your freezer is freezing up most likely due to a defrost issue whereas either the defrost thermostat, the defrost heater, or the defrost timer or adaptive control has a fault condition. Most of the time this issue is due to a fault with the defrost thermostat due to they are poorly made you would need a multimeter that measures ohms in order to troubleshoot which of these is the issue. You can access the thermostat, and the heater by removing the rear panel in the back of your freezer. If you have any further questions message me back.
Thank you
Rick

I have a model gss25lgmb bb. Im having issues with (couple of months) my fridge randomly stop cooling. Causing everything to defrost. My fan still seems to be on but not cooling or freezing. PLEASE HELP

If its not cooling or freezing then the compressor has to be checked. The compressor is the part which controls the cooling and freezing in the refrigerator. If the gas / refrigerant in the compressor gets low/ less then compressor will run more but it will not cool due to less refrigerant in compressor. In that case the compressor needs to be replaced. -------------- Also it can be faulty defrost assembly parts causing this issue. The thermostat is got faulty or the heater is not turning off. This also causes every thing to get defrosted.

The defrost assembly consists of three main parts. The defrost thermostat, the defrost heater and defrost board. Any of the one is not functioning. When thermostat sense the maximum cooling, it triggers the defrost heater to start heating and this defrosts the ice collected on the coils and the system works. Both thermostat and heater are controlled by defrost board. First the thermostat and defrost heater to be checked, if both check ok by meter and visually, then its defrost board causing the problem. You can get required parts from online sites like: --- www.repairclinic.com or from searspartsdirect online site.------------

Before that you can try manual defrost reset procedure. The manual defrost reset procedure is as follows : ----First unplug the unit from main power outlet. Then empty whole unit completely. Then keep both the doors open. Wait for 24 hours. All the ice collected on the coils and in the freezer section will get melted. Clean the water from the sections. Then Connect the power cord of the unit to main power outlet after 24 hours/.Then set the temperature to normal in both fridge and freezer section. It will take near to 4 hours to get run in its proper cooling cycle. Then check, if the problem returns again. Then go for replacing the parts.-------------------This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Frost free fridge freezing up

How to check everything

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.

You can turn the defrost timer till it clicks and everything shuts down. The heater should now come on. If it does, replace the timer. If it doesn't, check the heater and defrost thermostat. Turn the timer again till everything starts back up to end the defrost cycle.

I have an upright Premium larder fridge, about 18/12 old. It keeps freezing everything. We have 'defrosted' it more than once but it keeps happening. Any ideas?

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.

The refrigerator is always running, also when we went to get icecream to eat it was soft, and the popsicles they werent even frozen? Do you think I have a bad refrigerator? I bought it off craigslist...

If it was freezing initially the you problbly have an auto defrost problem. The evaporator coil behind the rear cover inside the freezer ices up preventing the cold from being circulated by the fan. check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.

My fridge in my fridge freezer keeps freezing everything in it.

If the fridge side is frozen you have a door seal issue.
If the freezer side is frozen you have a defrost component issue.
Your post was not clear as to which side is frozen.

Freezer not freezing solid. Pulled off back

Your not going into defrost, the fridge cycles into defrost every 8-10hrs for approx 20mins....problem could be multile items, the defrost time, defrost thermostat, or the defrost heater, will need a meter to ohm heater and thermostat...thermostat will be a closed circuit when it gets below 22degrees. ohm the heater out...if both check ok, will be a timer issue. Can do a simpler check....in the fridge section near controls there is a smal hole with a gear on the inside....that is your defrost timer. take a falt tip screwdriver and turn that gear until it clicks, this will put the fridge into defrost...if everything on the heater side is ok you will hear a sizzle from the ice melting
