Question about Dell Inspiron 17R (N7010) AC Adapter 65 Watt Replacement (974833803346)
Dismantled Dell n7010 laptop to clear laptop cooler. It went ok, but after assembling it, the laptop doesn't start at all. The only lifesign is when I connect the AC adapter, the right side led turns on for 1 second. Tried pushing power button for longer periods, with, without baterry, with and without AC adapter. Pls help!
Sounds like you have a problem with the motherboard. You might have zapped it with static electricity. Used motherboards are usually available for $130 delivered. Be more careful next time and avoid static electricity.

I would go back and double check all of your connections to make sure everything is connected properly and securely before purchasing a motherboard. That particular model has an AC Adapter Connector that has to be plugged in correctly to supply power to the motherboard. It's worth a try before spending 100+ on a used/new one.

Look under the laptop. There should be button to push to the side(it has a lock picture). After pressing it the hard drive will come out( i dont know if it is a hard drive). After it comes out put it back again. It should help. It worked for me.

SOURCE: when i m connecting ac
Hi Maxinfotech Its a common problem for DELL laptops. Most of the time the cause of this a bad AC Adapter but sometimes a firmware reset for the motherboard is the fix. I recommend you try replacing the AC adapter first than try to reset the firmware which could cause a system malfunction sometimes when not done properly. Thanks for using Fixya

There are in a variety of causes about this situation. It could be improper use of the power adapter or because the battery is not being cared correctly. Besides, you can troubleshoot below possibilities.
Firstly, check if the AC adapter is bad or not. Detach the battery from the laptop and turn on the computer with the power plug connected. If the computer does turn on, the power adapter is in good condition and not the cause the problem. If the laptop does not turn on, try using another power adapter to verify if the first one is defective. If the second trial does not work as well, the problem might be the power circuit of the motherboard. Look for a certified computer technician to help you solve the issue.
Secondly, If the notebook battery status is not being displayed correctly though software, it can be considered that the software is causing the problem and not really the battery.
Thirdly, test another known good ac adapter and try updating the bios if possible. check battery health meter for battery life status. Perhaps you need to replace the battery. but this issue is most likely an ac or motherboard issue. try running the 32bit diagnostic test using the drivers and utility disc.
If your laptop charger is malfunction and you plan to be on a budget on a new one, just try the following intocircuit laptop adapter:Intocircuit Dell Inspiron 1525 AC Adapter 65Watt 19.5V 3.34A
