Please take your AV Cord and hook it up to your wii and your tv. There are 3 colors. Red/White/Yellow
Once hooked up, take your remote and switch the Video Input on your tv. (look for the input button)
Make sure the Wii is powered on and you should see it pop up on the screen.

In order to use the 480p (HDTV/EDTV) resolution, you MUST be using the Wii Component Video Cable. Any other cable will not display the 480p resolution, you have use the 480i (Standard) instead. You can order the Wii Component Video Cable through Nintendo's Web site. Using that cable, you can select the 480p resolution. Hope this helps.

Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It has details about how to check a remote control; by one among the post. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ If the remote control is found OK; check and replace the infra-red sensor inside the TV. Contact any service technician.
