Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Gateway 450ROG cpu upgrade

This computer is ancient. You could buy a refurbished computer for $80 and it would still be at least 4 times better than this computer. Just buy a new computer.

What is the fastest cpu which will fit into an Acer Extensa 5420-5687 motherboard?

Hi,
the fastest cpu supported by the Extensa 5420 series is the AMD Turion x64 TL-66, a dual core with a frequency of 2,3Ghz and 2x512kb of internal cache. You can find more info here: http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/notebook/0000/Acer/Extensa5420G/Extensa5420Gsp2.shtml
Hope it helped,
Franz

I need to know what processor ...I can upgrade a P105-S6177 Toshiba with....I need something in the 2.4 range and an upgrade video card to 256mb

You won't be able to upgrade past 2.13ghz but you can upgrade the video card no problem. Cheapest place to get one is ebay. Just ebay for "p105 video card" and a bunch will pop up.

Hope this info helps!

Oh I would search the net and even call Toshiba to verify the fastest cpu you can get. Make sure you get the model number of the CPU that will help you track it down easily. And BEFORE you install new cpu make sure you are running the latest bios firmware version before upgrade ;)

K133ASA via Apollo motherboard cpu upgrde

Socket A/462 can take any AMD K7 family processor. The fastest you could get would be the Athlon XP 3200 I believe, but that could also include the Athlon 1400 and the Duron 1800. So it looks like you can make a significant upgrade of yhe processor.

Cpu upgrade

Upgrading the CPU in a notebook is a bad idea.

Even if you get a compatible CPU, a faster processor means more heat, and notebooks are not design to handle it. You would risk major damage.

If you want to make it faster, try increasing the memory.

Good luck!

No, your laptop has socket-M the T7800 and T9500 are socket-P. I believe the fastest you can put in there is the T7600

Fastest CPU available for the K7N2G?

Look for socket A processors and ignore the XXXX+ and focus on the XXXXMHz rating (the MoBo's manufacturer's support site will give you the max processor your Board will handle). Since you mention that your MoBo is 4 to 5 years old, you'll probably better serve yourself to replace the MoBo and processor (you'll be able to upgrade to a much better/faster processor by upgrading both, and shouldn't cost that much more), and probably be happier with the result. You may want/need to upgrade your Power supply while you are at it too.
