Question about Yamaha HTR-5830 Receiver
I have my Yamaha htr 5830 hooked up to my ps3 via optical cable. the sound was fantastic up until about 3 weeks ago. Now it seems as though its having problems fully decoding the dolby. Only the bass comes through and no highs. I tried using the other optical input, tried different channels, i even went as far as reformatting my ps3 and resetting the default sound settings through there. I am at a complete loss, please help! thanks
Try using the customer service help on the www.yamaha.com website with your problem. The service center location telephone number is 1-800-492-6247. Try finding a service center in your area and call them and ask for technical assistance. They have a frequently asked question section, but could find no information on how to use your unit with play station 3. It sounds like a problem with the amplifier bandwidth not giving full operation. You can try to reset you receiver to factory specifications with the help of your owners manual. This might solve your problem. I hope this helps you with your problem.
