There is a possibility that it could be a thermal fuse located in series with the hot side wire. If you are able to find it, and own an ohm meter, find out if it is open.

On start DW drains but does not fill...putting hot water into machine will get it to start and run cycle sometimes only...

Main control board is bad. Drain sequence is a power on test, Main board is not sending signal to open valve or is sensing water is present in the machine when it is not.

Why does kenmore dryer model 417.8804277 keep beeping when not in use?

If you have the 417.88042700 dryer, this is often a symptom of a control panel failure. First though, try resetting the dryer. Unplug the unit (or flip the circuit breaker to off). After 30 seconds to one minute, plug the dryer back in. Press Cancel twice to clear the PF message. Try running a short cycle and see if the unit beeps after the cycle is over.

Also check if you are getting brief power failures. Really short ones might cause beeping without the PF message on the display.

If neither of the above explain the issue, you probably need to check the control board or wiring for a short. A replacement control board is available here: http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/b6p8/Kenmore-Dryer-Main-Control-Board/137008010/1472768?modelNumber=417.88042700 .

I hope this helps.

Kenmore elite ce error and no continuity at pump

This is a *rare* error.

Overcurrent error. Caused by an obstruction in between tubs, too many clothes, too much detergent, wrong detergent.
Clean out soap dispenser, remove lodged items. Lessen clothing in tub make sure tub turns free.

It's highly unlikely the motor is at fault.

UNPLUG THE WASHER...

** Inspect all wiring connections at the MAIN BOARD (see below instructions).
** Inspect the wiring at the motor--remove the rear service access panel.

Remove the 17mm bolt at the center of the rotor--this can be tight as threadlocker is used.

Pull off the round shaped rotor. Use some care--this rotor has magnets lining the inside of it--it's not super fragile but can crack if hit sharply.

Inspect the two plug connections to the motor for loose or frayed wiring.
Also inspect the wiring which runs from the base (bottom) of the washer-to-the-motor.
Once or twice--I have found wiring frayed from the gyrating tub assembly (repair as needed).

If no obstruction such as a nail or similar object can be seen in the drum (small holes in tub)...
if the drum turns freely by hand...
the most likely fault will be the MAIN BOARD has failed.

This job is very simple:

Remove (3) screws at the top of the control panel.

Pull the control panel towards you & upward.

Remove the screws that attach the MAIN BOARD to the Display Board. Install new MAIN BOARD.

No power

Hi,
The main PSU is part of the control board. You may be lucky to find an aged fuse to replace, but it's more likely a power transistor that's fried.

Unplug and remove the control board to see which bit's toasted. Chances are it's cheaper to replace the control board - but check the probable cause - the motors are not short circuited.

Unit will not turn on

I have two of these units (actually it is my sister and brother in law's) but they come to me to fix stuff.
Last year they came to me with this unit not working. No indication of power on the display. I diagnosed it down to the PWB Assmebly, Main. I believe they are referring to it as a Power printed circuit board (part #6871A20271A). The new board worked for about 4 months and then quit in the same manner. Also, the second unit quit in the same manner also indicating the circuit board is bad.
I don't want to throw a board at it till I know why they are burning out. Also, want to try to diagnose the board to component level ($33.28/board last year). Let me know if this helps if you have the same symptoms?
You can replace the board but my experience says it will only last for a short time till we find the real cause (Sears must know this problem exist).

My maytag dishwasher appears dead just after 1 year

You probably have a bad main control or console control unit in there. Turn power off to the machine, be sure that BOTH of your door switches are ok. Unplug your membrane to control panel ribbon cable, then put everything back in place. Leave the door open, then turn power back on to machine. (also, be sure the thermal fuse hasnt tripped while your in the console). After re-appling power, close the door, and wait a few, if the console unit is bad, the machine will go into drain mode (you will here the unit start in drain). If no drain mode, then your control is shorted. You dont have to see any burn marks, etc for one to be bad, in fact, 98% of the boards we replace, dont show any signs of problems. Let me know what you find out.

Does the 76129 Kenmore Air Conditioner have a reset button

There is no reset button on this unit that I have located. I don't think cleaning the filter will help since you could just set the unit to run without the filter.

Washer's tub will not move

I don't know what the E5E error code refers to but I can think of at least one possible reason for no motor action, even if motor itself is ok and board has been replaced. The relay itself could be faulty with no power from the output side, even if it clicks on. Less likely but still possible would be a faulty overload protector at the motor.
