    Hello rcahill41018,

You should let everyone know your machine Model and Serial number. There may be a better forum to post in for support. From what you describe it doesn’t sound like a FAV6800AW or FAV9800AW.

Kenmore washer 80 series does not drain

When your washing machine won't drain, it could be as simple as a kinked hose or as complicated as a faulty impeller on the pump. Here are some steps to help you determine the problem and solution:

1. Pinched hose: Is the drain hose at the back of the washer been flattened or twisted in any area? A pinched hose could prevent the water from draining thoroughly. Gently straighten the hose, and make sure there is sufficient room between the back of the washing machine and the wall to prevent a repeat of the problem.

2. Clogged drain hose or pump: Does the drum spin normally, but the washing machine won't drain the water? Sometimes a piece of clothing, money, fabric or other debris gets into the water between the inner and outer tub. It may then make its way into a drain hose or even into the pump itself. The farther into the machinery a clog goes, the trickier it can be to remove. Call a repair professional for help.

3. Faulty timer: Does your machine fill with water and begin agitating, but the cycle never advances far enough to allow the water to drain? The timer that controls the cycles may be broken. Arrange for washing machine repair service.

4. Worn or loose belts: Are clothes still soaked at the end of a wash, even though the washing machine appears to go through the spin and drain cycles? The timer that controls the cycles may be broken. This is a job for the pros.

5. Faulty or jammed internal impeller on pump: When the spin cycle starts, do you hear a humming noise? The internal impeller that moves the water through the drain pump may be faulty or jammed. A grinding or grating sound is almost always an indication of a coin, button or other object colliding with the impeller. Have a washing machine repair expert determine if the impeller is jammed and can be cleared, or if the pump needs to be replaced.

6. Pump failure: Is your washing machine more than 7 years old? Your pump may simply have worn out. Even if it sounds as though it is running, the pump may not be working well enough to draw the water out of the machine. Replacement parts for pumps are generally unavailable. A new pump may be necessary.

Washing machine won't drain

When your washing machine won't drain, it could be as simple as a kinked hose or as complicated as a faulty impeller on the pump. Overloading your washing machine can cause items to be swept into the space between the inner and outer tub, leading to clogs in the drain hose or pump. These clogs may be the reason for why your washing machine won't drain.

Water will not drain out of front Load Kenmore 44072

Kenmore front loading washing machines will give you years of service. Sometimes things do go wrong, especially after the warranty runs out. Troubleshooting a Kenmore front loading washing machine could save you a lot of money on a repair bill. Before you call a service technician to fix your machine, attempt to resolve the issue through simple fixes first.
Washer Code Messages Your Kenmore front loading washing machine has an LED display that will give you error codes.
Will Not Spin If your washing machine does not spin, check to make sure the door has latched completely. Also remember that if your machine is in the SUD cycle it will not spin until it has eliminated the suds.
Washer Is Noisy
  • If the washer is making noise or vibrating, check to make sure it is still level. If it is out of level you can change this by adjusting the feet. Metal belt buckles and buttons in your laundry could be causing the noise as well.
  • Door Stays Locked After Cycle
  • At the end of the wash cycle, the lock will disengage after about 30 seconds. If it does not, it may be because the machine still detects that the water has not completely drained. Just select "Drain" and "Spin" and let the washer go through the cycle. Your door should unlock.

I have a fisher and Paykle GW612 washing machine, it won;t drain the water and won;t do the spin cycle. It now is making a huming noise. I think it is the motor that has an issue?

There should be a tech sheet located underneath the control panel that has the procedure for putting the machine in "diagnostic mode" and you can easily run the water pump by itself. Listen for a "hum" sound- If you hear a hum instead of a running water pump, then something is keeping that pump from turning for sure.

If this is the case, then you would need to check your water pump. It is located underneath the machine in the right front corner (as viewed from the front of the machine)
There is a black plastic external cooling fan impeller that you can spin with your finger (of course unplug the machine first) and see if the pump spins freely. You should also examine the pump for signs of leakage or corrosion. You may simply have an object that was left in someone's pocket that has become lodged in the pump. Pump removal requires no tools, however you need to first bail out as much of the remaining water in the wash tub as possible.
