Here's the manual: http://pdf.textfiles.com/manuals/FAXMACHINES/Hewlett%20Packard%201020%20Plain%20Paper%20Fax%20Machine.pdf

And the fix is to firmly grasp both sides of the front panel at the top. Then pull hard away from the base of the machine. Believe it or not, there are two metal clasps that hold the panel down tightly. Once you pull hard enough for the panel to open it will sound like the damn thing broke. It likely hasn't -- mine didn't. After the panel is open, lift the paper guide panel to expose the ink cartridge. If your machine is plugged in while you're performing your surgery, the ink will move to the right and be exposed enough to remove from the machine.

I have light in this ( !) what that is mean?

If ! light displays a solid light it means that the printer front door is open, print cartridge is missing, or a flash option has been installed that is not supported. Please Close the door, install a print cartridge, or install a supported flash option. The printer will automatically reset.

If ! light and Continue button (green button) displays a solid light, it means a printer error. The printer memory is too full to collate the print job. To continue printing press and release continue button to clear the message. To cancel press and release the X (red button).

You may also press Continue button twice quickly to see the secondary error code. For further assistance, please call Lexmark Technical Support.

    Hi,

Here are some steps that can help you resolve the problem.

Close the cartridge access door securely, if cartridge access door is open even slightly, the print cartridge light will blink.
    1. Open the cartridge access door, once carriage moves to the center of the printer.
    2. Check inside the printer and make sure that there are no obstructions that are preventing the cartridge access door from closing , if there's any obstruction remove it.
    3. Close the cartridge access door completely.

    Do the Print Self Test
Press and hold the Cancel button, and then press the Start Copy Color button
Release both buttons at the same time

If the issue persists, Make sure that the cartridges are installed
    1. Open the cartridge access door, once carriage moves to the center of the printer.
    2. Wait until the carriage is idle and silent
    3. Check the cartridge slots in the carriage to make sure that the cartridges are installed.
    4. Try to reinstall it again.
    5. Lightly press down on a cartridge to release it, and then pull the cartridge toward you out of its slot.
    6. Check the nozzles on the cartridges to see if the protective tape is still attached
Note: Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or ink nozzles
    7. Hold the cartridge by its sides
    8. Slide the cartridge into its designated slot at a slightly upward angle.
    9. Press the cartridge inward until it snaps into place

My toner cartridge refuses to come out. Is there a release somewhere that isn't working when I open the access door?

Yes, the release is on the black lever connected to the door on the left. If that won't release it you will need a new developer drive gear, #LM4225001

Light is flashing and will not print

dude..u didnt mention printer's make n model nyhow give a try to dis one..

Remove all the cartridges and the paper from the printer...Power off the printer...unplugg the power cable from the back of the printer...while printer is unplugged from the power..press n hold the power button for atleast 60 seconds then release it..open the back door of the printer and look for any paper jam...remove paper from behind (if any) and roll the rollers in upward direction from behind..close the back door and connect the power cable to the printer and power on the printer..Look for the cartridge slots and clean it wid a lynt free cloth and the copper contacts of the cartridges as well...then insert only one cartridge (black or color) and close the cartridge door and check for any blinking lights on the printer...similarily repeat it with the other cartridge..by this u wud get to know if any cartridge is faulty? If u get blinking lights on the printer ...that means there is some problem,,,
Once you see the steady green light on the power..it means the printer is ready..You can also print a test page..."Press n Hold the power button down...while holding the power button down...either press "Down Arrow button" 4 Times OR "Red X button once"...then release the Power button to print the test print..
If it prints ..u r the master !!!
    Best of luck

Remember if there is any blinking light,,the printer wont prin..
if the light blinks around the drops..it means there is cartridge issue and you may even replace the cartridges..make sure u remove the pink tape carefully before inserting the cartridges.

Can't remove used ink cartridge from G600 Printer dock???

I found a how to video on the web.Turn off your printer. Hold down the left arrow button and transfer button at the same time, then turn your printer back on. You should hear it make some noises, open side door push on cartridge to see that it is locked in. Then hit the green release button on the inside and the cartridge should come out on its own.
