The page says as a general rule, choose oils with a high smoke point and avoid flavored oils, peanut oil adds a nutty flavor to food olive oil has a low smoke point lard and walnut oil not sure. To me looks like a recommendation a foolish one but that's all they are stating honestly think vegitabkd oil is way to over powering and makes fried foods taste bad

General Tso's Tofu

Here is an amazing tofu recipe that i found online and unfortunately can\'t find the website where i copied it from. But it makes this (in my opinion) unflavored food taste like heaven.

Ingredients:

For the Tofu:
1 package of tofu
1 tbs arrowroot
3 tbs gluten-free, low-sodium tamari
1 tbs fresh ginger, grated or 1 tsp. ground
1-2 tbs canola or peanut oil

For the Sauce:
1 tbs sesame oil
1/4 cup gluten-free, low-sodium tamari
1 tbs arrowroot
1 tbs fresh ginger, grated or 1 tsp. ground
3 tbs honey
2 tbs hot sauce (optional)
1 tbs canola oil or peanut oil
4-5 scallions, thinly sliced
4 cloves garlic, minced
Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions:
Cut the tofu into cubes. In a shallow bowl, combine the arrowroot, tamari and ginger. Whisk until smooth. Add the tofu and toss to coat.
Let the tofu marinate for at least half an hour, the longer the better.
When the tofu has marinated, heat 1 tbs of canola or peanut oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the tofu to the skillet and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 4 minutes per side. Remove the tofu from the skillet and set aside.
Wipe out the skillet because you’re going to use it again.
In a large measuring cup or bowl, combine the sesame oil, tamari, arrowroot, ginger, honey and hot sauce, if using. Whisk until smooth. Set aside.
Heat the canola oil or peanut oil in the skillet over medium heat. Add the scallions and garlic and cook until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
Add the sauce to the skillet and let it cook until it thickens a bit. If it gets too thick, add some water.
Add the tofu to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce and reheat the tofu.
Sprinkle some sesame seeds over the dish when ready to serve.
Bon Apetit!

How to cook

Roast peanuts and rub off the skins. Run it in the grinder for 5 minutes, adding a few tsp of peanut oil or other unflavored vegetable oil, if necessary. You can add in some sugar and salt to taste.

I have had my current Wahl Peanut trimmer for about 8 months. Recently it is "biting me". In other words, it seems all of a sudden the blade is sharp on my skin and has not been so in the past. I...

if you use this peanut trimmer on a daily basis the blade is worn. On the peanut trimmer you can't sharpen them or adjust them, just replace them with a new one. On the other hand if the peanut blade was biting since you purchase it Wahl will fix at no charge. Most likly they will send you a new blade.

Can i use peanut oil

Yes.

If feeding others, beware of peanut allergies.

The attraction of peanut oil is it's higher smoke point, but canola or olive oil both contain far less saturated fat with canola holding a clear advantage.
Also canola is is probably the most 'tasteless' oil of them all. For some that might be an advantage, but others prefer particular oils for their taste.
Price point may be the final decider for you.

While peanut oil seems to be the clear favorite for turkey fryers, there's no law that says it must be used.

What kind of oil (vegtable or corn oil )

Hi!

Please use blended vegetable oil, pure corn oil, sunflower oil,
soybean oil or grapeseed (canola oil) because these oils have a high
smoke point. Peanut oil is not recommended because it greatly
impacts the flavor.

• Oils should never be mixed when deep frying.
• High heat, water, and burnt food particles break down the oil’s smoke
point.
• Replace oil if you notice:
- Excessive smoking at normal temperatures
- Strong oil discoloration
- A rancid smell
- Excessive foaming around the frying food

Thanks for using FixYa. Do rate the solution as Fixya if found helpful.

Thanks
