How do i do a factory reset on my Gemini D7

The Gemini tablet line performs factory resets and firmware updates with an SD card. Performing a factory reset requires writing files to an SD card with a computer, then starting up the tablet with the SD card present in it. Be aware that it will erase all data on the tablet, but with it in a boot loop, that may be a moot point.

Knowing the specific model number of your tablet is critical. Flashing the incorrect information can cause worse problems than you are encountering now. Rather than send you to the D7 GEM7007 page, I will give you the general page that leads to all the possible tablet results and directions. Look for the link that matches the Model Number, not just the name.

You will most likely need:
An SD card appropriate for the tablet (SD, MicroSD, Etc)
A reader for the card for your computer (Attached reader will handle SD and MicroSD)
The ability to get the Tablet to completely turn off to start the process.

The first two can be purchased. The last one is up to whether the tablet has a hardware fault. If the tablet has any kind of broken hardware inside it (wear and tear, aging, or damage) the process may not work. In the event of hardware failure, replacement under warranty or without warranty may be the best solution.

Keeps constantly restarting

Warning: All applications and personal files contained on the tablet will be erased. Only do this if you are unable to start your tablet.
  1. First, ensure the tablet has been switched off.
  2. Hold both the VOL+ and POWER buttons until the Gemini logo appears. Release both buttons.
  3. You should see a green robot on the screen with a red warning sign.
  4. Press & hold POWER then press VOL+ once, then release the POWER button. A menu will show on-screen.
  5. Using the VOL+ and VOL- keys you can move up and down to select the Factory reset option. Press POWER to select this option, then move down to YES and press POWER again.
  6. Once completed, press POWER to restart the unit.

My Nextbook 7 won't turn on

Every tablet has a button sequence, the reason being for a fresh restart. Either you unplugged it before full recharge, or didn't use proper charging adapter or cable.
There is a solution to avoiding this but first get tablet started by:
Hold power button and volume up button for eight seconds, release and hold power button again, tablet should turn on.
If not, do the opposite hold power button, volume down for eight seconds, then power button. You need to do this with proper adapter and charger you tablet came with plugged in. You may also need to do this more than once.
Once your tablet has started up, the way to avoid this is to swipe right on screen until you see settings app, should be round looking similar to a sprocket, or clock gear.
Open settings / display / sleep. I set mine for 30 mins.
Now you no longer need to power off you tablet manually, thus skipping the button sequence process. After unplugging from charge adapter you will still need to press power button to start.
Hope this helps I have yet to have this problem again, and remember to always let your tablet fully charge before disconnecting.
