Question about Samsung 26 Cu. Ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator, RS267LA

2 Answers

The refrigerator portion has quit cooling.

Our Samsung RS267LASH Side by Side Refrigerator is having problems. The refrigerator portion has quit cooling. It will only cool down to 60 degrees. The freezer portion is still working. We paid a repairman $400.00 for a new motherboard. That did not fix the problem. The refrigerator has now been broken three weeks and the repairman does not know how to correct it.

If you remove the drawers you'll probably see that the back of the fridge is bowing in somewhat. That is because the heater element that defrosts your fridge coils has failed and those coils are completely iced up. It is now all iced up and will not cool. If it made a weird noise for a couple of weeks that was the fan rubbing against the built-up ice. You need to get that heater element replaced. Happened to ours on Thanksgiving day. The tech used a blow dryer to remove the built up ice and replaced the heater element. Works fine again, although today my water dispenser quit dispensing water. ALL of the fridges are using cheap components these days... the techs will tell you it doesn't matter what brand you buy.

I have the same problem and have found that if you take the panel off inside the refrigerator and with a blow dryer defrost it. It should work for a few weeks. I have been doing this once a month since March and I hope to found out how to fix it also.

My freezer remains cold at the proper temperature however the refrigerator is about 60 degrees. The fan is working in side the refrigerator. Sumsung Model# RS267LASH

That is way too warm for a refrigerator, those temps are unafe to keep food - it should be no warmer than 40F, and optimally 34F. For your freezer no warmer than 10F, optimal is 0F and colder.

If your freezer is within those temps, then your evap fan is working normally - you might want to have your damper checked - it is a flap that opens and closes as needed to circulate cold air to your refrigerator - if this damper is stuck and woN't open or open wide enough your refrigerator won't get the needed cooling.

You might want to check for leaky gaskets in your door.

Model #RS267LASH fridge is not cooling but freezer side is. What could be the problem with this Samsung? Thanks,

If your RS267LASH refridgerator is not cooling it is because it is not defrosting. In order to fix it they will have to take it into the shop to cut into the copper wiring, remove the freon and change out the probe inside. The parts and labor are covered under warranty for 5 years. This was the last thing done to mine after changing out the board, a fan, and a thermocouple.

Fridge not keeping cool RS267LASH

Hi Adshegern,

I think you have a fan problem. Your refrigerator mus have a bad fan or not working fan. I suggest you full out the refrigerator and open back lower cover. Two months ago, I have a problem like your. I fixed by replace a fan. You have to options to fix it.

Option 1. Check your refrigerator's fan with voltage. It think it should be 120VAC. If yes, you can buy a fan from electronics store (it cost about $12.00 to $17.00). they you remove the old fan and its motor out. Install the new fan in. Then you need to drill 4 holes to tie the fan. By doing this, you keep the fan running stable. The fan won't vibrate.

Option 2. You can go online to this website partstore.com and buy an exactly the one you need and replace the old one. It cost about $40.00.

Good luck
