Question about Whirlpool Dryers
I have a Whirlpool Elite 2 gas dryer. The burner will light and run for a couple of minutes then cut off. The igniter glows and tries to light but no flame. After a while of tumbling with just air or if you turn it off for a few minutes it will relight. I checked for obstructions in the exhaust vent and cleaned out lint. Still no luck. It will run and heat for a couple of minutes and then the flame will go out. I am running the dryer in the timed cycle with the heat set to high heavy. I am thinking I have a bad solenoid. Any ideas where to go next? Is there an internal flap/damper in the exhaust vent that could be staying closed and causing it to run hot and the burner to shut off? Thanks
Your gas solenoid coils are bad. Replacing them will solve your problem.
