1 to 1. So 1 ohms on the scale is 1 ohms if it was X 10 1 ohms on the scale is = to 10 ohms

Remove the coil. THEN set your ohmmeter scale to RX1 and place ohmmeter leads on the primary coil windings A (front of coil) to B (middle of coil), B to C (front of coil) and check for primary coil winding resistance which normal resistance range is zero point five and zero point seven ohms. Bike has no spark


Check your pick-up sensor located inside the timing cover, behind the adjustor plate. If the filament is not intact you will have no spark.
A defective coil, cam position sensor, or stator will also cause a no spark condition.

If you have spark, it sounds like either the sensor in the timing cavity of the engine is bad or the electronic ignition unit is bad.

I have an 05 softail duece with manual choke, engine will turn over fine but I have no fire at the plugs, installed new plugs, still no fire

No fire to spark plugs


Of course their will not be if both plugs are out of the cylinder and there is not compression.

How do you set a resistor to 2200 ohm


Connect two resistors in serial eg 1kOhm +1.2 kOhm. You may not need exact 2200 assumung that standard resistors tolerance is 5% - check with Ohmmeter if it's between 2,11 and 2,32 kOhm. But if it's special and value is critical then get trimmer (small adjustable resistor) and adjust value to Ohmmeter indication. Watch out required power.

How can you check if a resister is bad


I use the ohmmeter function on my digital multimeter (DMM). You can get a basic DMM from Sears or Radio Shack for about $30.

First, (safety check) measure the voltage across the terminals unless you know there is no power in the circuit, or better yet, disconnect the resistor so other components don't give you a false reading. Attempting to read the value of a resistor in a live circuit will give you a meaningless number at best, and may severely damage your meter at worst. It could also damage other parts in the circuit.

Now switch your meter to the lowest ? range (Greek capital Omega, for Ohm) greater than the expected value of the resistor. Connect one test lead to each end of the resistor. The number you read should be the expected value plus or minus the tolerance (e. g., a 100 ? 5% resistor should read somewhere between 95.0 - 105.0 on the 200 ? range.). A bad resistor will usually show up as 1___ (over-range) because it will be burned out and open. Some very old carbon composition resistors will short (read much less than 1 ?) when they fail.

Often, a visual inspection will identify a bad resistor - if you can see that it's burned and broken, it's bad and further testing is unnecessary. The ohmmeter is for all the other cases.

Whats the max power of the system


paulcreber19, All audio amplifiers have their outputs measured for power output using a pure sinewave input of 1khz. With the outputs loaded with the appropriate noninductive, noncapacitve, purely resistive load (1% tolerance load resistors), a RMS voltage reading is made just prior to driving the amplifier into distortion or peak clipping of the output waveform. Knowing the RMS voltage and the OHMIC value of the load you will be able to calculate the RMS current (I) and then calculate the power using variations of OHMS LAW to find RMS power output. To calculate the absolute PEAK power (a measurement not used for rating audio amps anymore) you simply multiply the RMS power by 2.828 to arrive at PEAK pwr. So, your question should have been what is the power output per channel @ 1khz sinewave and less than 1% distortion with an 8 ohm, 16 ohm, 32 ohm load applied to the output. I'm pretty sure this is correct. If not, please let me know where I screwed up.
