Question about D-Link DIR-625 (790069292637) Wireless Router

1 Answer

Wireless Network gone from Toshiba Laptop all of a sudden.

I had all 3 my computers set up wirelessly at home to the Linksys Wireless G Broadband Router off of a hardwired PC .... all fine for months and months... then one day the internet disappeared from one of the laptops.  The laptop recognizes all the networks in the neighborhood except for this one.  I recently added an iPhone to the stable and it too works on the network. I reconfigured said laptop twice to see if that would help, alas it did not work. Help me.

windows xp.  No security. one floor with no obstructions. Nothing has changed, just one day the laptop ceased to recognize our linksys router.  Up until that day all was well and there have not been any changes.
    Thanks Smartkid2009 !

    Please clarify the following:

    1. Which windows O/S are you using in that Toshiba laptop?

    2. Are you using any wireless security on the router?

3.How far is that laptop from the router?

4.Has anything changed on that particular laptop (Say any new software installation done)?

Please try to scan and connect to your wireless network at a distance of around 6 to 7 feet from the router. This might help if there are any interference issues at play.

Also, you could manually create a profile for your wireless network on that laptop and try.

Alternatively, you could update the drivers for the adapter on the Toshiba laptop and check it out.

Please let me know if the above helps. Also, kindly rate the solution, if it helps.

Thank you.

With Warm Regards

Venkat

How can I get the router IP of my Linksys 2.4GHz broadband router?

The Linksys G router gives you both wired and wireless connections over a broadband Internet connect to create a local area network. The Linksys router is compatible with wireless G and B devices, through the 2.4-GHz wireless band. The wireless speed is at 54 megabytes per second and you can get 100 megabytes per second with a wired connection. You have to set up the wireless configuration on the Linksys before using it on your network.

Plug the router's power cable into an electrical outlet. Attach an Ethernet cable into the Internet port on the back of the router. Connect the other end into your broadband modem. Connect your computer to the Linksys G using another Ethernet cable. This Ethernet cable can go into any of the wired router ports. Open your Internet browser. Type "192.168.1.1" in the address bar and hit "Enter." This is your router's IP address and the home of its Web configuration page. Click "Wireless." Click "Manual." Alter your SSID, also known as your network name. You can change this name to any value that you want. You can also change the wireless channel if you are in an area with many wireless connections that may interfere. Click "Save Changes." Click "Wireless Security." Choose an encryption method to encrypt your wireless transmissions. WPA or WPA2 are common security protocols you can use in wireless networks. Input a network key, also known as the network password. Click "Save Changes."

Sometimes it happens that the router might got resetted automatically.
You will need to access the router settings page.
change the wireless settings of the router.
change the network name and the security.
This time create a new network name.
Make sure that your computer will be connected to the router with the cable when you change the wireless settings.
then try to connect to the wireless network.

Does not have wireless network adapter

If wireless network adapter does not show on your computer, you can try reinstalling the drivers for the network card. If after reinstalling the network card, it is still not recognized on the device manager, then i think you need to contact your computer manufacturer for possible hardware issue.

I have a medion computor which is unable to connect to my wireless broadband. The wireless network is recognised, but it doesn't connect. i also have a laptop, but this connects to the wireless broadband....

first off it would be helpful to know some more details, do you know the answers to these questions? also i assume you are connecting to a wifi router in your home network.
1) is there a password for the wireless network you must configure? 2) what operating system are you using? 3) if the OS is windows, do you know if you are using the wireless network settings panel that is part of windows, or does it have another brand name when you click on the wireless or network icon?
some possible causes i can think of are:
1) settings got reset and it cant connect without a password or confirmation to join an unsecured network 2) a new network popped up near the one computer that doesnt work and is being preferred due to signal strength although it is not a valid choice for you to get online 3) in the case of windows, software provided by the wireless hardware manufacturer is fighting with the windows wireless configuration 4) the wifi card in the computer is broken
