To perform a hard reset 1.Press and hold the Left SOFT KEY and the Right SOFT KEY, and at the same time, use the stylus to press the RESET button at the bottom center part of your device.
2.Release the stylus, but continue pressing the two soft key buttons. Release them only when you see the following message on your device screen: "Press SEND to restore factory default, press END to quit."
3.Press on your device.
On my XDA the reset button is located on the left bottom side of the XDA.
By a hard reset I presume you mean resetting to manufacturers default settings?
If you can boot your device, the easiest way is to go to Start > Settings > System Tab > Clear Storage.
If you cannot boot into Windows Mobile on your Orbit then the best way is to hold down both the left and the right soft-keys (the two keys with _ marked on them, either side of the wheel) at the same time whilst you poke a paperclip (or similar pointed item) into the reset button on the left side of the orbit. This will initiate a hard reset on the device.
It sounds like you've had problems writing a custom ROM to your phone. You have done it correctly using the CID unlock. Are you using the same WM6 ROM that you have done before?
Firstly, turn off your XDA Orbit. Then hold down the voice recorder button on the left side of the phone Then press and hold the power button on the right side of the phone, whilst still holding the voice button on the left.
This should get you into "bootloader mode" which will display a screen with red, green, blue and white stripes - yu should now be able to instlal your ROM using the RRU from the computer with USB connection
If that is not possible, you can install the ROM from a microSD card if you first format the card into Fat32 file system from your computer, then copy the NBH file from your ROM to the microSD card. You will need to rename the NBH file from the ROM to ARTEIMG.NBH for this to work.
Enter bootloader mode and you should see a prompt to press the volume button downwards to start the ROM installation process.
See this page for more information on the MicroSD ROM installation: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Artemis_SD_Card_Flashing
2 of the things you mention SPB and TouchFlo 2d are user interfaces. i have used both in the past and each has its positive and negative points. SPB mobile shell gives the benefit of making your Omnia much more finger friendly. when i had this installed i really didnt have a use for the stylus any more. where it falls down a bit is in the way different things work inside the shell itself.the basic omnia screen still runs in the background, then you have to touch the soft button in order to launch the mobile shell each time you reboot the phone. also if you hit the bottom right hardware button the screen reverts back to the basic samsung screen and you have to hit the soft button again to relaunch the SPB shell. if it had a bit more of a flowing feel to it i would have stayed with it but it almost felt clumsy compared to other user interfaces i have tried. i am currently running the TouchFlo2d user interface and have to say i am quite happy with it. it is also known as Manilla2D. i followed the basic instructions here http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-omnia-rom-discussion/274737/update-24-nov-08-custom-rom-manilla2d-with-alternate-landscape-dxhk1-m2d04/ and have not had a single problem with it as of yet....been installed for 2 weeks now. full install instructions are on that forum thread as well as a ton of different Omnia only themes you can install to change the look of TouchFlo to better suit your personality. i dont reccomend installing both user interfaces at the same time unless you just basically want run out of internal software memory ( this is different then storage memory) the 3rd app you mentioned is simply a screen locker. S2U2 can be used with either of the above UI's but i found it, for lack of a better word, useless. holding down the right lower hardware button for 3 seconds locks the screen anyhow. then it takes 2 taps to unlock it again. if you are simply trying to emulate the slide to unlock on the iPhone then maybe you bought the wrong phone to start with. other uset interfaces you might want to take a look at are winterface and pointui. i have already found my fav but maybe your tastes are different. good luck
it seems the os of your phone shomehow got curropted..first hard reset your phone using.... camara+recording button+power button and reset it with stylus....but you will loose your data stored on phone.....bet data on storage card will be saved........if this solve your problem...thats great...in case if not...reinstall the os on PDA...this will surely solve your problem...
All the Best.
