Question about Frigidaire FAC124 wall/Window Air Conditioner

Window Air conditioner installation

The window is an up-and-down type and the AC dimensions are for a window 21-35" in width. Mine is 45". I'm stuck. How should I seal the sides? I believe the unit - Zenith ZW5000 has side panels that will extend but not all the way to the sides of the 45" window, only a 35" window.

This is the only window in the room so I must use it.

Good idea. So how would I attach it to the air conditioner and the window frame?

I use sheets of styrofoam on the inside of the window. Cut it to fit the width and height you need to seal around the ac casing to inside window frame.

RE Portable AC units What are the dimensions of the window kit ? Thanks, Norm

Norm - The window kit is about 7.5 in. 'high', by up to almost 50 in. 'wide'. Minimum width as small as you like, if you can cut through plastic. Exhaust hose is 6 in. diameter. Any sliding window should be fine. However, you can customize it as necessary, to fit just about any type window.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

What is the size of this air conidotioner model number ESA3109-L

Do you mean the amount of energy that it uses? It is a 10,200 BTU air conditioner and is recommended for a space of 475 sq. ft.

If you mean the dimensions of the window unit itself when installed, then the space between the window casings must be between 24 1/2" and 38" wide. The height is 14 9/16" and the depth is 20 5/32". The AC unit itself is 14 3/8" x 19" x 20 5/32". See page 15 of the manual (16 of the pdf) for the entire set of dimensions.

Retrevo has the manual avaiable here: . You will need to enter a code to download the PDF.

I hope this helps.

Ac do not drop down the tempture of room.

I have the same problem. Sounds like the unit is stuck in "Dry Mode". Dry Mode runs the compressor for short intervals (like one minute at a time). Mine is only 2 months old and worked great until a few days ago.

Through the wall vs. window installation

I just purchased an alleged "window mount" air conditioner with the closest dimensions to the existing model. Do these mount as through the wall as well? My current opening = 18 x 26" the new purchase is 16 27/32 x 26.

There are 2 different types of window air conditioners – there are the window type of which will fit in a window that opens top to bottom and there is the slide in model of which the actual air conditioner will slide into a metal sleeve which is very common in apartments. In either case you need to measure the inside of the metal sleeve and then give that to the air conditioner dealer and he will know what to do and there is also a POS (point of sale) @ the store of which will also assist you in the measurement of the A/C unit – the window unit you need to measure the opening of the window itself, I hope this was helpful

Installation Issues

Measure the actual case. If it is less than 20", then it will fit by removing the window kit side pieces, to leave the bare case. Make sure the unit is well supported & level.
